A leading manufacturing company located in Kedah is seeking a QA Assistant Manager responsible for the quality management system and daily operations of Quality Assurance. You will oversee implementation, manage quality controls, and ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree and has at least 5 years of experience in Quality Control/Assurance, with strong leadership and communication skills. This position requires a proactive approach to quality improvement across all facets of the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in Quality Control/Assurance.
  • Experience in wire harness manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail.

Job Summary

The QA Assistant Manager is accountable for all quality-related matters and the day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance function, reporting directly to the QA Manager. This role is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s quality management system to meet organizational goals and compliance with standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System.

Manage all aspects of quality control, including incoming materials, in-process inspection, outgoing product quality, customer quality issues, and supplier/sub-contractor performance.

Establish quality policies, priorities, and objectives aligned with company goals.

Define roles, responsibilities, and accountability for QA department staff.

Plan, develop, and implement quality control plans and techniques to enhance process capability and product quality.

Establish cross-functional internal audit systems to evaluate QMS effectiveness and drive timely corrective actions for continuous improvement.

Lead, guide, and motivate QA personnel to ensure full commitment to quality improvement programs.

Monitor and improve process capability, product quality, and overall QMS adequacy/effectiveness; initiate and review quality improvement initiatives.

Analyze defect data (production, scrap, RMA) to identify root causes, drive corrective actions, and promote continuous improvement.

Manage customer queries, complaints, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) programs.

Represent the company during certification audits (ISO/IATF), coordinate audit activities, and provide auditors with required evidence.

Ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949).

Commensurate with the responsibilities outlined above.

Job Requirements
Education

Bachelor’s Degree, Post-Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Engineering (Industrial), Science & Technology, or equivalent.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of working experience in Quality Control/Assurance.

Preferably Senior Executives specializing in QA/QC or equivalent.

Experience in wire harness manufacturing is an added advantage.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics (KSAO)

Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 requirements.

Excellent administrative skills with high attention to detail and tenacity in follow-ups.

Positive and flexible attitude toward change.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Self-driven, results-focused, with strong leadership qualities.
