Job summary

KJTS Group Berhad is looking for an Electrical Technician to perform installation, maintenance, inspection, testing and troubleshooting on project sites in line with safety requirements and regulatory standards. Your duties include wiring and maintenance of electrical systems, inspecting equipment and distribution boards, reading drawings, performing tests, and ensuring all work is safe and compliant.

Qualifications

• Minimum PW2 Wireman competency certificate recognised by the Energy Commission.
• 1–2 years of relevant electrical maintenance or building services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, wiring, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting works.

Job description

Responsible for carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and troubleshooting works at the project site in accordance with safety requirements, approved procedures, and applicable electrical regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, wiring, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting works.
• Inspect and maintain electrical systems, equipment, distribution boards, and related components.
• Perform electrical testing and ensure installations are safe and operational.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Identify electrical faults and carry out necessary corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities and ensure equipment reliability.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain proper records of inspections, maintenance activities, testing, and repairs.
• Ensure proper use and care of electrical tools, equipment, and materials.
• Coordinate with supervisors, technicians, and other departments to complete assigned works.
• Follow Permit-to-Work, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and other site safety procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.

Requirements

Qualification and Experience

• Minimum PW2 Wireman competency certificate recognised by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga).
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant electrical maintenance or building services experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, distribution boards, and basic troubleshooting.
• Able to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Good understanding of electrical safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, or on-call when required.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and willing to work at site and in various working conditions.
