WANHUAN CONSTRUCTION SDN. BHD. seeks a qualified Chargeman to manage the site's temporary electrical installation and ensure safe operation of low-voltage systems in a major Johor Bahru project.

You will supervise Wiremen, coordinate with TNB and electrical subcontractors, and ensure compliance with the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994. English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin are required.

Qualificações

• Possess valid Chargeman Certificate of Competency (A1 or A4 LV) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga with certificate number and expiry date.
• Malaysian citizen or valid work authorization in Malaysia.
• Minimum 5 years' experience on construction site temporary electrical installations.
• Strong knowledge of the Electricity Supply Act 1990, Regulations 1994, MS IEC wiring standards, and TNB requirements.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and night shifts when required.
• Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

Responsabilidades

• Act as the competent person in charge of the site's temporary electrical installation (low voltage).
• Operate and maintain LV switchgear, distribution boards, generators, pumps, site lighting and power circuits.
• Conduct daily inspections and monthly inspection/testing in accordance with Regulation 67; maintain records and reports.
• Issue written instructions and Permit-to-Work for electrical work; enforce Lock-Out / Tag-Out (LOTO).
• Supervise Wiremen and electrical workers under your control; ensure all work is carried out by qualified persons.
• Coordinate with TNB, the electrical subcontractor and consultants for supply application, inspection, testing and commissioning.
• Prepare load calculations, cable sizing and single-line diagrams for temporary supply; review electrical risk assessments.
• Maintain earth resistance, RCD, insulation and continuity test records; ensure calibration of test instruments.
• Respond to power outages and electrical emergencies; investigate incidents and report to management.
• Maintain spare parts, cables, DBs and tools; control issue and return.

WANHUAN CONSTRUCTION SDN BHD is amain contractor undertaking the main building works for a 40-storey apartment building in Johor Bahru. The project requires a dedicated Chargeman to manage and maintain the site's temporary electrical installation.

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Chargeman to act as the competent person in charge of the site's temporary electrical installation. You will operate and maintain the low-voltage distribution system, supervise Wiremen, coordinate with TNB and electrical subcontractors, and ensure compliance with the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements (Mandatory)

• Valid Chargeman Certificate of Competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) - A1 or A4 (Low Voltage). Please provide your certificate number and expiry date.
• Malaysian citizen or candidate with valid work authorization in Malaysia.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction site temporary electrical installations.
• Strong knowledge of the Electricity Supply Act 1990, Electricity Regulations 1994, MS IEC wiring standards and TNB requirements.
• Experience with temporary distribution boards, switchgear, generators, earthing, RCD protection, cable sizing and load calculation.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and night shifts when required.
• Able to communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

Preferred

• B0 / B1 (11kV) certificate would be an advantage.
• Wireman PW4 (three-phase with testing endorsement).
• Experience on high-rise projects with tower cranes and passenger hoists.
• Own transport and able to start within one month.
