Job summary

GT MART Sdn Bhd in Klang is seeking a Purchasing/Procurement professional to manage stock levels, source suppliers, and negotiate terms to optimize value.

You will collaborate with Operations, Warehouse, Finance and Marketing to support merchandising and category planning, with 1–2 years of experience encouraged.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, or related field.
• 1–2 years purchasing, procurement, merchandising, or supply chain experience preferred; fresh graduates encouraged.
• Must communicate in English, Malay & Mandarin; Mandarin-speaking candidates preferred for supplier dealings.
• Good computer skills (Microsoft Office) are an added advantage.
• Strong organizational and administrative abilities with attention to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain healthy stock levels for outlets and warehouse operations.
• Issue purchase orders promptly to prevent out-of-stock situations.
• Track purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
• Source potential suppliers and identify new products per assortment strategy.
• Negotiate trading terms, pricing, and cost structures to achieve best value.
• Prepare and propose monthly promotion plans, including pricing and supplier support.
• Conduct market research and demand forecasting to support buying decisions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Warehouse, Finance and Marketing to ensure smooth purchasing execution.
• Support tasks related to purchasing and category management as assigned.

Job responsibilities:

Monitor and ensure healthy stock levels to support outlet and warehouse operations.

Issue purchase orders promptly to prevent out-of-stock situations.

Track purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.

Source potential suppliers and identify new products in line with company assortment strategies.

Negotiate trading terms, pricing, and cost structures to achieve the best commercial value.

Prepare and propose monthly promotion plans, including pricing, mechanics, and supplier support.

Conduct market research and demand forecasting to support buying and replenishment decisions.

Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Warehouse, Finance, and Marketing) to ensure smooth execution of purchasing activities.

Support tasks related to purchasing and category management as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Logistics, or a related field.

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, merchandising, or supply chain is preferred; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Must be able to communicate in English, Malay & Mandarin (We seek Mandarin-speaking candidate who are required to deal with Mandarin speaking suppliers)

Good computer skills (Microsoft Office) will be an added advantage

Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
