SARAWAK OIL PALMS BERHAD is seeking a proactive Procurement Specialist in Miri, Malaysia, to evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and coordinate purchasing for machinery, spare parts, and services. The role requires a degree in a related field and 1–3 years of relevant experience, with SAP/ERP knowledge as an added advantage.
You will manage requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with policies and budget.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
Prepare and issue purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and other procurement-related documents in accordance with company policies.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and cost efficiency.
Monitor outstanding purchase orders and expedite deliveries to meet operational requirements.
Coordinate with end-users, workshops, estates, mills, and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials, spare parts, and services.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and budget requirements.
Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare purchasing reports, including monthly procurement analysis.
Assist in inventory planning and cost-saving initiatives.
Perform any other duties assigned by the superior from time to time.
Possess a Degree in Business Administration, Automotive, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, warehouse operations, or a similar role.
Experienced in sourcing machinery, or heavy equipment spare part is preferred.
Good knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is an added advantage.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimum supervision.
