Job summary

GLOBAL PETS SDN. BHD. is seeking a Purchasing Executive to support purchasing activities across its veterinary clinics, retail outlets, warehouse and headquarters. The role involves processing purchase requests, evaluating supplier quotes, and coordinating deliveries to ensure uninterrupted operations.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in purchasing or related field with at least two years’ experience, strong Excel skills, and good English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
• At least two years of purchasing or procurement experience.
• Experience in veterinary, healthcare, pharmaceutical, retail or multi-branch operations is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Process approved purchase requests and prepare purchase orders.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations, pricing and terms.
• Review clinics’ monthly usage, sales trends and projected product requirements.
• Check warehouse buffer stock before placing orders to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Source suitable suppliers and alternative products when items are unavailable or discontinued.
• Compare product specifications, quality, pricing, availability and supplier terms.
• Maintain and update the Medicine Order Spreadsheet.
• Follow up with suppliers on order confirmation, delivery schedules and outstanding items.
• Coordinate deliveries with clinics, branches and the warehouse.
• Verify purchase orders, delivery orders and invoices.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier and delivery records.
• Monitor supplier performance and recommend improvements.
• Support cost-saving and purchasing-process improvement initiatives.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least two years of purchasing or procurement experience.
• Experience in veterinary, healthcare, pharmaceutical, retail or multi-branch operations is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Good negotiation, communication and supplier-management skills.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple orders and meet deadlines.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage.
