Zi Li & Partners is a boutique corporate law firm with collaborating firms in Vietnam and Indonesia, serving local and foreign clients in Malaysia and beyond. We are seeking a talented junior to mid-level associate to assist partners on corporate, banking and real estate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, start-ups, foreign investments and finance transactions.

Strong English communication is required; Chinese language ability is an advantage.

Qualifikationen

• Excellent written and verbal English communication; Chinese reading/writing is a plus.
• Strong research and analytical skills applicable to corporate matters.
• Proactive, responsible and able to learn quickly.
• Able to work independently and in a team.

Aufgaben

• Assist partners with corporate, banking and real estate matters including M&A, JV, start-ups.
• Conduct legal research to support advice on corporate and real estate matters.
• Perform due diligence for corporate exercises.
• Draft and review corporate and transactional agreements.
• Liaise with clients, counterparties and authorities.

Together with our collaborating and best friends firms within the ASEAN region, we provide pragmatic and commercially oriented legal solutions for local and foreign clients to support their business and operations in Malaysia and beyond. We have also been ranked on Asialaw and IFLR1000.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting partners with corporate, banking and real estate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, start-ups, foreign investments, financing transactions and property sale and purchase/ rental/ lease transactions.
• Conducting legal research to support the provision of legal advice on corporate, banking and real estate matters.
• Conducting legal due diligence in connection with corporate exercises.
• Drafting and reviewing a wide range of corporate commercial agreements and transactional documents.
• Liaising with clients and other third parties including counterparties and their representing solicitors and governmental authorities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• L.L.B (Hons) with completion of BTC or CLP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to read, speak and write Chinese is an advantage as we have an active China desk practice.
• High level of responsibility, self-motivation and commitment.
• Eagerness to learn, ability to quickly grasp legal concepts and willingness to accept feedback.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
