Job summary

Hitachi Energy Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Applications Engineer specializing in protection, control and substation automation to support regional projects across APAC.

You will serve as a technical expert, coordinating relay configurations, testing and commissioning, and ensuring seamless integration with RTU/SCADA systems. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, at least 5 years in protection and control, and readiness to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in protection and control engineering.
• Experience with protection relays and power system applications.
• Willingness to travel ~20%.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical focal point for protection and control solutions.
• Design, configure, test and commission protection relay systems.
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, maintenance and lifecycle service.
• Collaborate with regional teams across APAC.
• Lead homologation and product approval activities.
