Hitachi Energy Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support protection, control, teleprotection and substation automation solutions across APAC markets.

You will design, test and commission protection relay systems, perform coordination studies and provide lifecycle support from FAT to field deployment. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Power Engineering with 5+ years in protection and control, plus hands-on testing and customer-facing skills.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in protection and control engineering, power system automation or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of protection relays, protection schemes and power system applications within transmission and distribution networks.
• Hands-on experience in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and technical support activities.
• Experience performing relay settings, protection coordination studies and fault analysis.
• Familiarity with teleprotection systems and communication-assisted protection schemes is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of RTU, SCADA and substation automation systems.
• Exposure to IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3 or related communication protocols.
• Experience supporting utilities, substations, rail, renewable energy or industrial power projects is preferred.
• Strong customer-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilidades

• Act as the technical focal point for protection and control solutions on transmission and distribution projects.
• Design, configure, test and commission protection relay systems and protection schemes.
• Perform protection coordination studies and fault analysis to meet customer requirements.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting and lifecycle service activities.
• Lead integration of protection systems with RTU/SCADA and substation automation platforms.
• Coordinate relay homologation, testing and customer submissions.
• Advise customers on upgrades, migrations, and end-of-life strategies.
• Travel up to 20% for site support and regional project activities.
