Responsibilities

• Cost estimation and pricing strategy for products.
• Analyse changes in design, raw materials, manufacturing methods and services; revise costings accordingly.
• Prepare detailed costing breakdowns and approval reports for quotations.
• Provide quotations and conduct cost studies to address customer inquiries.
• Review BOM and update price lists after customer-approved pricing.
• Analyse actual vs standard costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct yearly costing reviews and participate in customer costing discussions.

Job description

Founded in 1984 in Singapore, Fitson specializes in producing high quality baby and mother care products for well-established international baby brands. Fitson provides a full scope of services which encompasses the initial stages of design conceptualisation, tool design & fabrication, product innovation, manufacturing to complete packaging and delivery.

What do you need do in this role:

Cost Estimation and Pricing Strategy: Calculate estimated costs for product costings and provide recommendations on selling prices to ensure competitiveness and profitability.

Cost Changes: Analyse changes in product design, specifications, raw materials, manufacturing methods, and services provided. Determine effects on costs and revise costings accordingly for product specification changes, revamps, and manufacturing processes. Includes considerations for machine optimization, minimum order quantities (MOQ), scrap management, and obsolete costs.

Costing Structure Breakdown and Approval Reports: Prepare detailed breakdowns and analysis reports of costing structures for quotation approval before releasing quotations before quotation release.

Provide quotations to customers and conduct cost studies and analyses to address customer inquiries related to costing/pricing.

Costing Analysis and Pricing Negotiations: Conduct a comprehensive costing analysis, cost structure studies, and pricing negotiations/meetings with customers' management to secure price acceptance. Provide market data and concrete proof to persuade customers.

Bill of Materials (BOM) Review and Pricing Updates: Review BOM for new products and update product price lists upon customer-approved pricing.

Internal Control and Process Understanding: collect and record data for analysis of actual cycle time. Analyse actual manufacturing costs and compare standard costs to actual production costs, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities

Handle yearly costing-down exercises and attend customer meetings for costing studies and proposal reviews.

Pricing Strategy and Financial Assessment: Perform pricing benchmarks and financial assessments to ensure justifiable price positioning and pricing structure for both existing and newly launched products, especially for yearly costing reviews and yearly customer cost-downs.

Maintain costing records for all products/ revisions and manage costing-related matters for items produced and exported/imported from overseas.

What do you need to have to be successful in this role:

Software skills: Microsoft Dynamics NAV, UBS, and Microsoft Excel.

Education qualifications: Possess at least a Diploma/Degree or equivalent in finance & accounting.

Work experience: Minimum of 4 years of working experience in a related field.

Willingness to work in Senai Ipark.
