Job summary

AVANTIS TECHNOLOGIES SDN. BHD. in Sungai Petani, Kedah is seeking a Diploma-qualified Project Coordinator to plan and execute tool trials for moulding, casting, and pressing processes.

You will read engineering drawings, coordinate FAI with QA, and manage sample submissions through to customer approval. The role requires 2+ years in manufacturing, strong documentation skills, and proficiency with MS Office; Mandarin communication with China suppliers is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Experience in project coordination, tooling, production or quality-related activities is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge may be considered depending on suitability.
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Knowledge of Microsoft Project is an added advantage.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with different departments.
• Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in drawings, dimensions, samples and project documentation.
• Able to communicate with China supplier in Mandarin is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute tool trials for moulding, casting and pressing processes.
• Read, interpret and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Liaise with the QA Department to arrange and complete First Article Inspection (FAI) in a timely manner.
• Coordinate sample preparation and submission to customers and follow up on customer / Engineer approval until closure.
• Maintain and update ISO documents and project-related SOPs.
• Perform other ad hoc duties and project-related tasks assigned by the immediate superior.
• Ensure new project tool trials and sample submissions are completed according to the agreed project schedule.
• Prepare, record and update tool trial results and related project records.
• Monitor and follow up on corrective actions arising from tool trials, FAI and customer feedback.
• Coordinate with Production, Tooling, Engineering and QA departments to resolve project-related issues.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation in accordance with the company's ISO requirements.
• Ensure samples are properly identified, allocated, stored and retrieved under 5S conditions.
• Maintain proper records of customer samples and sample submission status.
• Escalate project delays, quality issues and technical problems to the immediate superior in a timely manner.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

Technical Requirements

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling and production methods.

Able to understand basic dimensional requirements, tolerances and inspection results.

Knowledge of Plastic Injection Moulding, Die Casting and Metal Stamping/Pressing is an added advantage.

Basic understanding of tooling trial procedures and sample approval processes.

Qualifications & Experience
