Job summary

Hong Poh Engineering Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a Site Supervisor / Project Supervisor – Mechanical (M&E) to oversee daily mechanical works including ACMV/HVAC, ducting and process piping on active projects in Malaysia.

You will coordinate with engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, monitor progress and ensure safety and quality standards are met. CIDB Green Card or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM, Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related technical discipline.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and coordinate site installation activities.
• Good communication, coordination and supervisory skills.
• Willing to travel to project sites as required.
• CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card (Green Card) or willingness to obtain one before site deployment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities for mechanical engineering works (ACMV/HVAC, ducting, piping).
• Monitor subcontractors to ensure installation complies with drawings, specs, and schedule.
• Coordinate with project engineers, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor progress, manpower, materials and equipment to meet milestones.
• Conduct site inspections and follow up on rectifications; ensure safety compliance.

Education

Job description

Site Supervisor / Project Supervisor – Mechanical (M&E) for an established engineering and construction company specialising in Mechanical, Electrical and Process (MEP) engineering works. The role involves supervising and coordinating daily site activities for mechanical engineering works, including ACMV/HVAC, ducting, process piping, exhaust systems, cleanroom mechanical installations and plumbing.

Key responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily site activities for mechanical engineering works, including ACMV/HVAC, ducting, process piping, exhaust systems, cleanroom mechanical installations and plumbing.

Monitor subcontractors to ensure installation works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards and schedules.

Coordinate with Project Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and other trades to ensure smooth site operations.

Monitor site progress, manpower deployment, materials and equipment availability to achieve project milestones.

Conduct site inspections, identify installation issues and follow up on rectification works.

Assist the Project Management team in monitoring work progress, resolving site issues and preparing progress updates.

Ensure site activities comply with company safety requirements and applicable site regulations.

Perform other project-related duties as assigned by the superior.

About you

Minimum SPM, Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related technical discipline.

Relevant working experience in mechanical engineering, M&E construction or site supervision.

Practical experience in one or more of the following mechanical systems: ACMV/HVAC and ducting systems, process piping and mechanical piping installations, exhaust and mechanical ventilation systems, cleanroom mechanical installations, plumbing and related building services.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and coordinate site installation activities.

Good communication, coordination, problem-solving and supervisory skills.

Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with subcontractors and project teams.

Possess a valid CIDB Construction Personnel Registration Card (Green Card), or be willing to obtain one before site deployment.

Willing to travel or be assigned to project sites as required.
