Job summary

Hasilwan Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Project Manager, Transmission & Distribution (Civil) to lead and manage substation projects up to 275kV, ensuring execution, timely delivery, and compliance with technical specs, grid standards, and contractual requirements.

You will oversee EPCC scope, coordinate HV equipment installation, supervise subcontractors, review engineering docs, and support procurement and finance aspects, contributing to the growth of Malaysia's energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (Power/High Voltage).
• 5–7 years of experience in T&D substation projects up to 275kV.
• Strong knowledge of substation systems, transformers, GIS/AIS, and protection relays.
• Experience with HV testing and commissioning is an advantage.
• Familiar with utility standards, grid compliance, and HV safety regulations.

• Lead HV/MV/EHV substation projects up to 275kV assigned by management.
• Oversee EPCC scope for substations.

Project Manager, Transmission & Distribution (Civil)

To lead and manage Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Substation projects up to 275kV, ensuring successful execution, timely delivery, and full compliance with technical specifications, grid standards, and contractual requirements.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Lead and manage HV/MV/EHV substation projects (up to 275kV) assigned by Management

Oversee full EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing & Commissioning) scope for substations

Supervise installation and integration of 275kV / 132kV / 33kV substation systems, including:

Power transformers

GIS/AIS switchgear

SCADA / RTU systems

Ensure all works comply with T&D standards, utility requirements (e.g., TNB), and grid codes for 275kV substations

Review and coordinate engineering documentation including SLD, protection schemes, layouts, FAT/SAT, and T&C reports

Manage authority submissions and technical approvals related to high-voltage substation works

Oversee substation construction, equipment installation, cable works, earthing & lightning protection systems

Coordinate procurement and delivery of high-voltage electrical equipment

Monitor contractors and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with HV installation standards

Support finance matters including progress claims, VO submissions, and contract documentation

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Electrical Engineering (Power / High Voltage) or equivalent

5–7 years’ experience in T&D Substation Projects up to 275kV

Strong technical knowledge of:

Substation systems

Power transformers

GIS/AIS switchgear

Protection relays & control systems

Experience in high-voltage testing & commissioning is an advantage

Familiar with utility standards, grid compliance, and HV safety regulations
