Job summary

YTL Power International Berhad in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to oversee renewable energy and power plant projects from development through execution.

You will coordinate feasibility studies, risk assessments, tendering, site audits and technical due diligence while working with authorities and vendors.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical), has 10+ years in the Renewable Energy/Power sector, and a professional certification.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years in Renewable Energy/Power Industry.
• Professional Certification.
• Experience in project management of large-scale solar projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage project development from pre-development to execution.
• Assess feasibility and technical viability of energy projects.
• Conduct site audits and technical due diligence.
• Prepare tender documents and manage procurement.
• Develop and maintain supplier and vendor relationships.
• Support business development in potential power project opportunities.
• Coordinate with authorities and technical consultants for approvals.

Job description

Experienced in power industry field especially utility scale solar, renewable energy and power plant projects.

Project manage from project pre-development stage, development, execution and implementation stage from developer point of view.

Prepare project development plan and monitor the progress of various project progress (Preference with experience in project management of a large-scale solar project)

Assesses the feasibility of energy/power related project (Solar, Coal, CCGT, Hydro and renewable energy project)

Evaluating the technical viability of any power related project

Performing desktop study of project technical performance, concept design and high-level risk assessment & mitigation measure.

Conduct site audits and technical due diligencePrepare technical evaluation report

Work with authorities and technical consultant to support related project approval

Prepare document and technical specification for tendering and procurement

Prepare and manage tendering process

Develops and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors and technical service providers

Reviewing technical reports of any brown field and green field project

Supporting business development team of any potential power project development

Requirements

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)

Minimum 10 years working experience in Renewable Energy/Power Industry
