Job summary

Bolt Industries Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a senior project engineer/manager to lead planning, budgeting, and execution across multiple projects. You will own major engagement with consultants, contractors, authorities, and clients to resolve issues and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will direct procurement strategy, technical evaluations, and vendor coordination, and have final sign-off authority on drawings and variation orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Renewable Energy, or related Engineering discipline.
• At least 6–10 years' project engineering/management experience, with exposure to solar/renewable energy/LSS.
• Proven track record leading projects from planning through commissioning and handover.
• Authority signing off on drawings, technical submissions, and variation orders.
• Registrations/certifications such as ST, SEDA GCPV, CIDB/PE Electrical are preferred or in progress.

Job description

Own senior-level engagement with consultants, contractors, authorities, and clients to resolve project issues and ensure regulatory compliance.

Direct procurement strategy, technical evaluations, and vendor coordination for project requirements.

Own risk mitigation decisions and contingency planning, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Oversee preparation of technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.

Hold final sign-off authority on engineering drawings, technical submissions, and variation orders.

Guide and mentor junior project engineers on technical and delivery matters.

Present progress reports, cost forecasts, and project documentation to management and clients.

Oversee installation, testing and commissioning, defect resolution, and final client handover.

Support ad-hoc project leadership tasks required for smooth, timely delivery.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Renewable Energy, or related Engineering discipline.

At least 6–10 years' project engineering/management experience, with substantial exposure to solar, renewable energy, or LSS projects.

Proven track record leading projects independently from planning through commissioning and handover.

Demonstrated authority signing off on drawings, technical submissions, and variation orders.

Registration as a Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) Competent Person (Wireman/Chargeman or PE Electrical), and/or SEDA Malaysia GCPV System Design Qualified Person certification, is strongly preferred; candidates actively pursuing these certifications will also be considered.

CIDB registration or Professional Engineer (Electrical) status with the Board of Engineers Malaysia is an added advantage, particularly for LSS projects.

Understanding of Suruhanjaya Tenaga licensing, testing and commissioning (T&C), and net-energy-metering submission requirements for GCPV systems.

Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills, including experience engaging senior client and authority representatives.

Ability to mentor junior engineers and coordinate across multiple project teams.

Willing to travel domestically and internationally as project needs require.

Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
