Job summary

Business Edge Personnel Service – Puchong New Village is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee major mixed development projects. You will obtain approvals, coordinate with consultants from concept through tender, and finalize designs with contractors.

You will monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with contracts, quality standards, and budgets. Ideal candidates hold a civil/structural/construction management degree with 10–15 years of relevant experience, and can

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering / Construction Management or equivalent.
• 10 to 15 years' experience in mixed development projects.
• Sound knowledge of civil, structural, quantity surveying and architectural works.
• Strong leadership and ability to lead site project team and coordinate with internal contract department and consultants.
• Ability to coordinate with relevant government authorities for required approvals and permits / licenses.
• Experience in ISO, IBS, Q-LLASIC and CONQUAS system.
• Preferably with experience working in consulting companies.
• Able to work under pressure
• Discipline, integrity and committed

Responsibilities

• To obtain all relevant approvals for construction projects including layout plan, earthworks, infrastructure works, building plan approval and issuance of certificates of fitness / completion.
• To coordinate with consultants during conceptual design, design development and tender stages and ensure drawings are prepared within time frame for submission to authorities and tender.
• To contribute towards and finalize designs and materials proposed by consultants and contractors.
• To oversee and monitor progress of construction works ensuring compliance with contracts and drawings regarding specifications, quality and completion time.
• To ensure construction works are completed with minimum defects and meet quality standards.
• To ensure projects are completed within budget and stipulated timeframe.
• To contribute ideas towards more marketable and better products.

• To obtain all relevant approvals for the construction of the projects including layout plan, earthworks, infrastructure works, building plan approval and all other relevant approvals including the issuance of certificate of fitness and/or certificate of completion and compliance.
• To coordinate with consultants during conceptual design, design development and tender stage and to ensure that all drawings are prepared within stipulated time frame for submission to the relevant authorities and calling tender.
• To contribute towards and see to the finalization of designs and materials proposed by consultants and contractors for the projects.
• To oversee and monitor the progress of building construction works to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the contracts and the construction drawings especially in respect of the specifications, quality and time of completion.
• To ensure that construction works are completed with minimum defects and have achieved desired standard quality of workmanship.
• To ensure that projects are completed within budget and stipulated timeframe.
• To contribute ideas towards achieving marketable and better product.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering / Construction Management or equivalent
• Must have a minimum of 10 to 15 years' of working experience involved in mixed development projects
• Sound knowledge of civil, structural, quantity surveying and architectural works
