M. Rail Technics Sdn. Bhd is seeking an experienced DMU Project Manager to drive the end-to-end delivery of the DMU project in Malaysia. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team across engineering, procurement, operations and maintenance, ensuring alignment with safety, quality and contractual requirements.

The role emphasizes leadership, meticulous planning, and seamless coordination with clients, contractors, suppliers and authorities to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Manufacturing, Railway Engineering, or equivalent) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, scheduling, budgeting and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the DMU Project Execution Plan with scope, milestones, resources and deliverables.
  • Set objectives, milestones, work packages and performance indicators for the DMU project.
  • Maintain integrated project schedule and ensure on-time completion of activities.
  • Monitor progress against baseline schedule, budget and deliverables.
  • Identify constraints, dependencies and critical activities and implement mitigations.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, procurement, operations, maintenance, finance, HSE and quality.
  • Provide leadership for technical activities related to the DMU project.
  • Coordinate rolling stock, mechanical, electrical, traction, braking, control systems and signaling interfaces.
  • Lead the project team to execute activities per the approved plan.
  • Monitor contracts, purchase orders, and commercial obligations.

Job description

The DMU Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, management, execution, coordination and successful delivery of the DMU Project within the approved scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety and contractual requirements. The position provides overall leadership and direction to the project team and serves as the principal coordination point between internal departments, clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants, authorities and other relevant stakeholders. The Project Manager is accountable for ensuring that project objectives are achieved efficiently while maintaining compliance with applicable railway standards, engineering requirements, safety regulations, contractual obligations and company policies.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the overall DMU Project Execution Plan, including project scope, milestones, resources, deliverables and implementation strategy
  • Establish project objectives, key milestones, work packages and performance indicators
  • Develop and maintain the integrated project schedule and ensure timely completion of project activities
  • Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedule, budget and deliverables
  • Identify project constraints, dependencies and critical activities and implement appropriate mitigation measures
  • Coordinate project activities across engineering, procurement, operations, maintenance, finance, HSE, quality and other relevant functions
  • Provide overall coordination and leadership for technical activities relating to the DMU project
  • Coordinate with engineering teams on rolling stock, mechanical, electrical, traction, braking, control systems, signalling/interface and other relevant railway systems
  • Lead the project team in executing project activities in accordance with the approved project plan
  • Monitor project contracts, purchase orders, work orders and commercial obligations
About you

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Manufacturing, Railway Engineering, or equivalent)
