Job summary

Pacific Cargo Solutions Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to oversee site operations, maintenance activities, manpower, equipment and project resources. You will drive on-time, on-budget project delivery with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years in operations, project, or engineering with 2+ years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in transportation/logistics, warehousing, or cargo handling is desirable.
• Familiar with Malaysia regulatory and compliance requirements in engineering and logistics.

About the role
We are seeking a hands-on and results-driven Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of projects while managing day-to-day site operations, maintenance activities, manpower, equipment, and project resources.

The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to the project team and ensure that all operational and maintenance activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and applicable regulations.

This role requires an experienced professional who is comfortable working in a dynamic industrial environment, coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing operational challenges, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget and recourse allocation.

Monitor project progress and performance against established baselines and key performance indicators

Identify, assess and manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as needed

Lead and coordinate project teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration across all stakeholders

Manage project budgets and costs, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are utilised efficiently

Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients

Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client requirements

Coordinate with engineering, logistics and operations teams to ensure seamless project execution

Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned for continuous improvement

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

Minimum 8 years of experience in operations management, project management, or engineering, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices

Excellent leadership and team management capabilities

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects

Proficiency in budget management and financial planning

Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities

Experience in the transportation and logistics or warehousing and cargo handling or engineering industry is highly desirable

Familiarity with Malaysia's regulatory and compliance requirements in engineering and logistics
