Job summary

Kota Menara Ufuk Sdn Bhd is seeking a capable Project Manager in Malaysia to lead planning, execution and control of construction works from inception to completion within time and budget. You will coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors, review progress, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

The role requires strong leadership to guide subordinates, manage claims, and deliver timely reporting while upholding quality and safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• 1. Planning, execution and control of all works from inception to completion within time and budget
• 2. Develop, review and control detailed work program, budget and costs; plan resources
• 3. Adhere to company management system, policies and procedures
• 4. Hands-on coordination of on-site support services and material delivery
• 5. Conduct meetings with Clients, Consultants and relevant parties
• 6. Review progress and contractor performance; initiate preventive/remedial actions
• 7. Responsible for commercial/contractual decisions (Variation Orders, EOT)
• 8. Ensure timely progress claims and final accounts closure
• 9. Evaluate sub-contractor and supplier claims
• 10. Timely reporting
• 11. Liaise with government agencies and ensure compliance
• 12. Guide and develop subordinates
• 13. Additional duties as instructed

Responsibilities

• 1. Exercise authority for planning and control of works within set time and budget while maintaining quality
• 2. Set and monitor detailed work program and project budget; manage costs
• 3. Enforce adherence to company policies and procedures
• 4. Coordinate on-site support services and ensure timely delivery of materials
• 5. Attend and lead meetings with clients, consultants and stakeholders
• 6. Monitor progress and contractor performance; take preventive/remedial actions
• 7. Make commercial/contractual decisions, including variations and extensions of time
• 8. Manage progress claims and closure of final accounts
• 9. Assess sub-contractor and supplier claims accurately
• 10. Provide timely project reporting
• 11. Liaise with government agencies for compliance
• 12. Mentor and develop team members
• 13. Perform any other duties as required

Job description

1. To have overall authority and responsibility for the planning, execution and control of all works in the project from inception to completion within the specified time frame and budget, without sacrifice to quality.

2. Establish, review and control the detailed work program, project budget and costing, resource planning at timely intervals to ensure project performance. Where possible, to introduce value engineering to enhance project performance.

3. Adhere to Company's integrated management system, policies and procedures and ensure adherence of project team members to the same.

4. Ensure hands on approach to coordinate all support services and activities on site. From detailed work plan, to direct services to ensure proper and timely selection and delivery of materials.

5. Conduct and attend meetings with Clients, Consultants and all other relevant parties.

6. Regularly review progress on project and sub-contractor performance, and initiate preventive and remedial actions to maintain project on schedule.

7. Responsible for all commercial and contractual decisions eg. Variation Orders and Extension of Time.

8. Ensure progress claims are presented and collected in timely manner and final project accounts closed out in timely manner.

9. Responsible for accurate evaluation of sub-contractor and supplier claims.

10. Responsible for timely reporting.

11. Liaise with all relevant government agencies and statutory bodies in relation to all related matters, and ensure timely compliance with all statutory and legal requirements.

12. Guide, counsel, motivate and develop subordinates.
