Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Project Manager to oversee planning, coordination, and execution of assigned construction projects in Malaysia. You will lead the project team, liaise with clients, manage commercial and financial controls, and ensure compliance with contracts and technical specs throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent English communication, and a solid background in M&E systems, ACMV, ducting, piping, and fire protection.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction with M&E project exposure.
• Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within construction PM.
• Strong knowledge of commercial M&E systems.
• Experience with ACMV, ducting, piping, fire protection systems and related M&E.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and delegate project activities to the project team.
• Lead and coordinate the project team for effective execution.
• Monitor performance and provide direction as needed.
• Develop and control the master project schedule to hit milestones.
• Review progress reports and provide corrective actions.
• Serve as main client contact on project matters.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and management of assigned projects. The role involves direct liaison with clients, project team leadership, project commercial and financial control, technical coordination, and ensuring that all project activities are completed safely, within the approved budget, and according to the agreed project schedule and client requirements. The Project Manager is also responsible for ensuring compliance with project contracts, technical specifications, quality standards, and applicable requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and delegate project activities and responsibilities to the project team


• Lead and coordinate the project team to ensure effective execution of project activities


• Monitor team performance and provide direction where required


• Develop, monitor, and control the master project schedule to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved on time


• Review project progress reports and provide appropriate direction and corrective actions


• Act as the main point of contact for the client on project-related matters


• Maintain effective communication and coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments


• Prepare and manage project progress claims and billings


• Monitor project cash flow and overall financial performance


• Manage and monitor change orders, variations, and other commercial matters

About you

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, with experience managing M&E projects, including at least 4 years of experience in a subcontracting environment


• Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within construction project management


• Strong knowledge and understanding of commercial Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems


• Good knowledge and experience in ACMV, ducting, process piping, fire protection systems, and other M&E-related systems


• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications


• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills, with proven ability to manage and develop project team members


• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, including technical writing and presentation skills


• Knowledge and experience with Fire Protection Systems would be an added advantage
