Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced construction project manager to plan, oversee, and complete civil and building projects. You will ensure delivery on time, within budget, and per approved drawings and specifications.

The role requires 5–7 years of related experience, fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and strong leadership and communication skills. Proficiency with project management tools and adherence to HSE regulations are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management, Architectural or related field.
• Professional or safety certifications are an advantage.
• Minimum 5-7 years related work experience.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, cost control, and contract administration.
• Good leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Knowledge of relevant HSE and construction regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and oversee construction projects from commencement to completion.
• Ensure on-time delivery within scope and budget.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Ensure work follows approved drawings and specifications.
• Comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Identify risks, delays, and issues and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor quality and rectify defects.
• Attend project coordination and progress meetings.
• Prepare and submit progress reports to management and clients.
• Manage variations, claims, EOT matters, and contracts.
• Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance.
• Resolve site issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain proper project documentation and handover records.
• Coordinate testing, inspections, commissioning, and handover.

Job description

To plan, manage, and oversee construction projects from commencement to completion, ensuring that the project is delivered safely, within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of construction projects.

Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.

Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.

Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.

Identify project risks, delays, and potential issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Monitor the quality of construction work and ensure defects are rectified.

Conduct and attend project coordination and progress meetings.

Prepare and submit project progress reports to management and clients.

Manage variations, claims, extension-of-time matters, and contractual issues.

Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance.

Resolve site issues and coordinate corrective actions.

Ensure proper project documentation, records, and handover documents are maintained.

Qualification & Experience:

Candidate must possess at least a Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management, Architectural or a related field.

Relevant professional or safety certifications are an advantage.

Minimum 5-7 years related work experience.

Good command in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Proficiency in project management software and tools.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, project planning, cost control, and contract administration.

Good leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
