Job summary

R Systems in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced IT project manager to lead complex transformation initiatives across Core Insurance systems, POS, and data platforms. You will drive end-to-end implementations, manage a cross-functional team of 5+ members, and ensure delivery on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates will have GI/Life insurance or digital/AI/cloud exposure and be adept at building strong business cases while complying with RMiT guidelines, aligning technology initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in managing IT projects and system implementation, including 3 full lifecycle cycles.
• Experience with Core Insurance systems (AS400) and related platforms such as POS and portals.
• Preference for candidates with GI/Life insurance, Digital, big data, analytics, AI, infra and cloud exposure.
• Experience leading teams of 5+ full-time members (not including vendors).
• Familiarity with Bank Negara Malaysia's RMiT guidelines and risk controls.
• End-to-end RFP/RFQ management experience including vendor evaluation.
• Ability to develop comprehensive business cases with cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments.

Job description

• At least 5 years of experience in managing IT projects and system implementation / enhancement, with at least 3 full lifecycle of system implementation.
• Technical project management skills, preferably with experience in managing transformation projects related to Core Insurance system (AS400), insurance products launch, Insurance Point-of-Sales systems (POS), Agent/Customer/Claim Portal, Corporate Websites and Data Lake.
• Priority will be given to candidates with experience or domain expertise in GI/Life insurance products, Digital, big data, analytics, AI, infra and cloud.
• Experience in managing at least 5 full-time team members, excluding the implementation vendor.
• Familiarity with Bank Negara Malaysia’s Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) guidelines, ensuring compliance and effective risk controls in technology initiatives.
• Experience in driving and managing RFP/RFQ end to end process will be added advantage. E.g. to work closely with cross-functional team to prepare RFP/RFQ pack, evaluating vendor proposals and overseeing the selection process.
• Proven ability to develop comprehensive business cases, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and strategic alignment with organizational objectives will be an added advantage
