Job summary

Hag Solar Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Engineer based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting in planning, designing, execution, and monitoring of Solar PV systems. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.

1. Project & Site Execution

• Responsible for assisting in planning, designing, execution, and monitoring of solar PV installation.
• Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and load assessments
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning (T&C) of solar PV systems
• Monitor site progress, ensure work is completed on schedule and within quality standards
• Coordinate with contractors, installers, and suppliers on-site

2. Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

• Perform routine inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance of solar PV systems
• Troubleshoot system faults (inverter, panels, cables, monitoring system)
• Monitor system performance and identify underperformance issuesPrepare maintenance reports, fault reports, and service documentation
• Ensure compliance with SLA and safety requirements

3. Technical & Engineering Support

• Assist in design of systems, review, single-line diagrams (SLD), and system sizing
• Support preparation of technical proposals, drawings, and documentation
• Assist in configuring inverter, monitoring systems, and data loggers
• Ensure compliance with local regulations (ECoS, SE, Authority requirements)
• Support testing, validation, and system performance analysis

4. Quality Assurance & Safety

• Conduct QA/QC inspections during installation and maintenance
• Ensure all works comply with engineering standards and safety procedures
• Assist in implementing HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) practices
• Verify materials and workmanship meet project specifications

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare: Site reports, Daily/weekly progress reports, Maintenance & inspection reports
• Maintain records of: Equipment, tools, and spare parts, Project documentation and drawings
• Assist in submission for: Permits (PTW), Client reports, Warranty claims

6. Coordination & Client Support

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams
• Support engineers in meetings and project coordination
• Provide technical support and basic client training when required
• Ensure good communication between design, project, and O&M teams
