Project Engineer (Operational Excellence / PMO)
The Project Engineer supports technical and facility improvements that enhance equipment reliability, utility efficiency, compliance and readiness for future scalability. This includes developing a continuous pipeline of initiatives based on operational performance, asset lifecycle, capacity requirements and business growth.
As part of the Project Management Office, the Project Engineer works closely with Maintenance, Production, QA, ESH, Warehouse, Purchasing and external technical parties to coordinate engineering studies and projects from initial assessment through implementation, commissioning and performance review.
1. Maintenance Reliability and Overall Equipment Management
- Work with Maintenance to review equipment performance, recurring breakdowns, preventive maintenance practices and reliability gaps.
- Support structured troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis, and translate findings into practical corrective and preventive actions.
- Support Overall Equipment Management through equipment criticality assessment, condition review, lifecycle planning, replacement strategy and improvement prioritisation.
- Identify opportunities to improve uptime, maintainability, critical‑spares readiness and dependence on external technical support.
2. Utilities, Energy and Facility Improvement
- Review the capacity, condition and operating performance of facility and process utility systems.
- Develop improvement proposals to strengthen utility stability, energy efficiency, operational continuity and future capacity.
- Support projects involving boiler and steam systems, hot water, condensate return, HVAC, refrigeration, compressed air, water, wastewater and other supporting infrastructure.
- Identify and implement practical opportunities for heat recovery, water reuse, energy recycling and other circular‑energy or sustainability initiatives.
- Review completed improvements to confirm that the expected capacity, reliability and cost benefits are achieved and sustained.
3. Technical and Facility Project Coordination
- Coordinate equipment upgrades, facility enhancements, renovations and utility‑modification projects from planning through installation and commissioning.
- Prepare project scopes, technical requirements, layouts, cost estimates, risk assessments and implementation schedules.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, equipment manufacturers and vendors on technical evaluation, quotations, installation, testing and performance verification.
- Support equipment selection, factory or site acceptance testing, commissioning and post‑implementation performance review.
- Ensure projects consider maintenance access, operational continuity, safety, cleanroom requirements, quality controls and future expansion needs.
4. PMO Day‑to‑Day Coordination and Governance
- Maintain project trackers, timelines, action lists, risks, issues and regular progress updates.
- Prepare project documents such as charters, meeting minutes, technical summaries, decision records and change requests.
- Coordinate meetings, site assessments, vendor briefings, quotation reviews and cross‑department follow‑ups to keep projects moving.
- Track project costs, expected benefits and actual results using simple reports and performance indicators.
- Support other assigned PMO initiatives, including minor facility works, green initiatives, process improvements and cross‑functional operational projects.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- 5 years of experience in application engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, facilities, utilities or technical project coordination.
- Able to lead cross‑functional improvements and manage vendors with basic project discipline (scope, timeline, cost, risk, documentation).
- Able to interpret technical drawings, process flows, equipment specifications, proposals and quotations.
- Structured, analytical and hands‑on, with clear communication and good cross‑functional coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of CAD, Power BI, or similar tools is an advantage.
The core business is to provide Contamination Control products & services to cleanroom customers in the Microelectronics,Data Storage(Disk Drive), Pharmaceutical,Biotechnology,Medical Device & Healthcare industries/Hospitals.
This includes laundry for cleanroom garments which are different from normal laundry services offered. This specialized service means our facility is made to wash cleanroom garments & proper standards are implemented to ensure no foreign particles are contaminating the washed garments.
We also custom designing, manufacturing & supplying cleanroom garments such as coverall, ESD Booties, Smock, inner garments, medical/professional scrubs for healthcare industry & more.
