Micron Malaysia is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer (Cleanroom) to own end-to-end mechanical utility systems across build, commissioning and operations in a high-purity cleanroom environment.
You will lead design basis, tool connections, monitoring, preventive maintenance via SAP PM, and work with AI-enabled tools to improve energy and reliability, coordinating with vendors and OEMs while adhering to ISO 14644 and Micron standards.
Jora Malaysia will close on 16th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.
As the designated System Owner, the incumbent holds end-to-end technical accountability for the following mechanical utility systems across their full lifecycle — build, construction, commissioning, and operation:
Cleanroom environment: airflow, differential pressurization, temperature and humidity control, and particle cleanliness to ISO 14644 classification.
Tool utility hook-up: mechanical utility connections to production tools - CDA, PVAC, exhaust (GEX/WEX/Scrubber), PCW, and ethylene glycol.
Tool-install execution: build, utility connection, LPOC tracking, leak-check, and facilities readiness in coordination with tool owners.
Associated monitoring: facility monitoring and control system (FMCS), particle counters, pressure/temperature/humidity sensors, and BMS integration.
Shows readiness and skill to incorporate AI-powered tools into everyday engineering tasks such as predictive maintenance, energy management, and optimizing mechanical utility systems with data. This supports Micron's AI transformation and smart manufacturing objectives.

The Facilities Mechanical Engineer (Cleanroom) will develop and assess cleanroom design basis — airflow, air-change rates, pressurization cascade, and cleanliness classification — following ISO 14644 and Micron global standards. You will analyze tool utility matrices (TUM), hook-up diagrams, and point-of-connection plans. You will validate utility demand (flow, pressure, exhaust) against tool facility requirements. You are responsible for tracking site progress, workmanship quality, and cleanliness protocol adherence during build-out, aligned with Micron global and engineering standards.
Operational Phase — Operations, Maintenance & BudgetIn the operational phase, you will serve as the accountable O&M owner for assigned systems throughout their operational service life, guaranteeing safe, reliable 24/7 availability. You will coordinate preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies using RCM/FMEA methodology, planning and scheduling all maintenance activities via SAP PM. Manage OEM service contracts, specialist vendors, and in-house technicians, and lead breakdown response, root-cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions to eliminate repeat failures. Additionally, you will drive optimization and reliability-improvement projects with quantified return on investment, energy savings, and carbon-reduction benefits.
Job RequirementsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related engineering field from a recognized university.
Experience in relevant mechanical/facilities engineering, with strong exposure to cleanroom environments and/or tool-install/utility hook-up programs.
Direct experience in a semiconductor, wafer-fab, data-centre, pharmaceutical, or other high-purity/critical cleanroom environment.
Project Management Professional (PMP®) or equivalent certification is an advantage for capital-project delivery and budget management.
Experienced in capital project delivery from concept building through commissioning and hand-over to operations, followed by long-term O&M ownership.
Hands-on experience owning an annual maintenance budget (OPEX) planning, forecasting, and cost control against target.
Working knowledge of BMS platforms, SAP PM, AI tools, and AI-enabled ways of working to improve efficiency, productivity, and decision-making.
