Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree in Electrical/Power Engineering is required.
• Hands-on involvement in HV infrastructure projects with site supervision.
• Experience with TNB submissions and energization procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist execution and monitoring of HV infrastructure works including substations and lines.
• Review method statements, inspection checklists, testing plans, and outage requests.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for HV equipment delivery and QC.
• Ensure works comply with TNB standards and IEC 61850 guidance.
• Participate in site inspections, testing, and energization activities with TNB.
• Support integration of protection systems with grid control systems.
• Maintain project documentation and reports for TNB submissions.
• Liaise with Project Manager on daily status and technical issues.

Project Engineer (High Voltage - Solar Farm)

The Project Engineer (HV) will be responsible for supporting the design review, technical compliance, and site execution of high-voltage (132kV-275kV) grid interconnection infrastructure for utility-scale solar farms. The role focuses on ensuring TNB standards are met throughout the engineering and implementation phases. The engineer will collaborate closely with internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and TNB to support energization and commissioning activities.

• Assist in the execution and monitoring of high-voltage (HV) infrastructure works including substations, switchyards, transmission lines, and SCADA integration.
• Support the preparation and review of technical documentation including method statements, inspection checklists, testing plans, and outage requests.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on HV equipment delivery, installation, and quality checks.
• Ensure construction works comply with TNB standards and engineering approvals, including reference to the Interconnection Code, Protection Guidelines, and IEC standards (especially IEC 61850).
• Participate in site inspections and testing with TNB, contractors, and internal teams.
• Support the integration of protection systems and SCADA/RTU equipment with TNB's grid control systems.
• Maintain project documentation and reports for TNB submission, including pre-energization documents.
• Liaise with the Project Manager on daily work status and elevate technical issues requiring resolution.

Requirements

• Field of study: Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related fields
• Working Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in high-voltage infrastructure projects, preferably in utility-scale solar farms or TNB-related works.
• Mandatory: Candidate must have hands-on involvement in projects requiring TNB submission, site supervision, energization procedures.
• Language: Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin/Cantonese is an advantage.
• Willing to travel and work at project sites across Malaysia.
