Job summary

Faeth Asia Pacific in Malaysia seeks a project engineer to oversee high purity system and equipment installation projects from planning through completion. You will coordinate with sub-contractors, source components per specifications, and create P&ID diagrams and technical descriptions.

The role requires 1–2 years of project planning/management experience, familiarity with Pressure Drop Calculation (AFT Fathom 9), and strong MS Office and CAD/3D software skills. Travel overseas may be required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or equivalent.
• 1–2 years’ experience in project planning, management, sourcing and technical planning (fresh graduates welcome).
• Must be familiar with Pressure Drop Calculation and AFT Fathom 9 software.
• Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD or equivalent CAD/3D software.
• Good communication, coordination and cross-functional teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel overseas and work in manufacturing/semiconductor environments.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for engineering of all phases of the project activities including planning, implementation, execution and completion of high purity system and specialty equipment installation and certification projects.
• Direct interface with sub-contractors for all aspects of the project schedule, including assistance to prepare the project meeting for technical presentations, design reviews and providing project progress reports for management or customer review.
• To source eligible components, parts and supplier according customer and project specifications and current standards.
• To create P&ID’s, layouts, parts, spare parts lists, functional and technical descriptions according project scope.
• To manage suppliers and sub-contractors for their scope of works, schedules and monitoring performance of sub-contractor to complete system or equipment installation works.
• To record, implement and check all design changes during the project and follow up.
• To implement lessons learned in upcoming projects and follow up.
• To develop and calculate technical solutions (Pressure Drop Calculation-PDC) to fulfill the project requirements.
• To continue acquire up-to-date knowledge for the relevant current standards, regulations and methods including state of technology.
• To assist to prepare, review, manage and maintain project documentation with customers, consultants and the authorities which is required by client for final acceptance of the system or equipment.
• To review the project targets at every phase to ensure the project is within the project budget in term of project costs and cash flows, its schedule timeframe and to perform risk analysis and taking corrective action if necessary.
• To implement best practices throughout the project sites and participate in discussions with the teams for effective management and utilization of constrained resources.
• To assist for acting on, and solving all customer complaints as swiftly as possible with a minimum of inconvenience to the customer, and to keep the customer up-to-date on actions taken, together with a time plan for which the identified issues can be resolved.
• To take charge in Quality Management function and Project Quality Plan (QMS / PQP) and Safety Management System (SMS) throughout the project.
• Upon completion of a project, assist to organize a post mortem meeting with management for evaluation of the project results and project problem faced and provide recommendations to Management for future improvement.

REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Chemical or equivalent.
• Preferably more than 1-2 years’ experience with strong understanding of project planning, project management functions, sourcing and technical planning. (Fresh Graduates are welcome to join)
• MUST be familiar with Pressure Drop Calculation, especially knowledge and experience with AFT Fathom 9 software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project, AutoCAD or equivalent CAD/ 3D Software
• Ability to communicate and interact with people at all level and to work cross functionally.
• Strong analytical, planning, negotiation, oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• A team player who is independent, self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Relevant working experience in manufacturing field, semiconductor industries is an added advantage
• Readiness and willingness to travel oversea.
