Job summary

MYFutureJobs is seeking a PROJECT ENGINEER (CIVIL) on a contract basis in Malaysia. The candidate will conduct site inspections, prepare method statements and JSA, and supervise civil activities including concrete repair and waterproofing.

Strong coordination with client teams and adherence to safety rules are essential. The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree (BEM preferred) with 1–3 years of relevant maintenance experience in petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEM preferred).
• 1–3 years of civil maintenance experience in petrochemical, refinery or heavy industrial plants.
• Strong knowledge of concrete repair, structural works, and building maintenance systems.
• Familiar with plant safety procedures, PTW and risk assessment practices.
• Good communication and coordination with client and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections and prepare reports on civil, structural, and building assessments.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and JSA for all civil activities.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety procedures.
• Supervise site activities including concrete repair, grouting, waterproofing, and building maintenance works.
• Coordinate with client representatives and other disciplines during daily operations and shutdown activities.
• Monitor manpower, material usage, and work progress to ensure timely and quality completion.
• Prepare daily site reports, progress updates, and work completion records.
• Enforce compliance with plant safety rules, PTW systems, and confined space entry requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

• DEGREE IN CIVIL OR STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING (RECOGNIZED BY BEM PREFERRED).
• MINIMUM 1–3 YEARS OF WORKING EXPERIENCE IN CIVIL MAINTENANCE, PREFERABLY IN PETROCHEMICAL, REFINERY, OR HEAVY INDUSTRIAL PLANTS.
• STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF CONCRETE REPAIR, STRUCTURAL WORKS, AND BUILDING MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS.
• FAMILIAR WITH PLANT SAFETY PROCEDURES, PTW, AND RISK ASSESSMENT PRACTICES.
• GOOD COMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION SKILLS WITH CLIENT AND SITE TEAMS.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

• CONDUCT SITE INSPECTIONS AND PREPARE REPORTS ON CIVIL, STRUCTURAL, AND BUILDING ASSESSMENTS.
• PREPARE METHOD STATEMENTS, RISK ASSESSMENTS, AND JOB SAFETY ANALYSES (JSA) FOR ALL CIVIL ACTIVITIES.
• ENSURE WORKS ARE EXECUTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPROVED DRAWINGS, SPECIFICATIONS, AND SAFETY PROCEDURES.
• SUPERVISE SITE ACTIVITIES INCLUDING CONCRETE REPAIR, GROUTING, WATERPROOFING, AND BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKS.
• COORDINATE WITH CLIENT REPRESENTATIVES AND OTHER DISCIPLINES (MECHANICAL, PIPING, E&I) DURING DAILY OPERATIONS AND SHUTDOWN ACTIVITIES.
• MONITOR MANPOWER, MATERIAL USAGE, AND WORK PROGRESS TO ENSURE TIMELY AND QUALITY COMPLETION.
• PREPARE DAILY SITE REPORTS, PROGRESS UPDATES, AND WORK COMPLETION RECORDS.
• ENFORCE COMPLIANCE WITH PLANT SAFETY RULES, PTW SYSTEMS, AND CONFINED SPACE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.
