Job summary

VHR Consultancy in Malaysia seeks an engineer to manage commercial and project execution for Power Transformer and GIS servicing projects. You will handle quotations, cost and margin control, supplier coordination, and project documentation, invoicing, payment collection, and closeout.

You will work with customers, EPC contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure contractual, financial, and delivery requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Approximately five years of experience in electrical equipment sales, commercial engineering, or project execution.
• Experience with TNB, utilities, EPC contractors, or data centre projects is an advantage.
• Knowledge of tendering, cost estimation, project documentation, contract terms, invoicing, and payment collection.
• Strong communication, coordination, organizational, and financial management skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Seeking an engineer in a MNC to manage the commercial and project execution activities for Power Transformer and GIS servicing projects in Malaysia. The role covers quotation preparation, cost and margin control, supplier coordination, project documentation, invoicing, payment collection, and project closeout. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, EPC contractors, vendors, internal teams, and factories to ensure projects meet contractual, financial, and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Quotation Management

• Prepare technical and commercial quotations, including cost breakdowns, pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and warranties.
• Develop project budgets and P&L estimates, monitor gross margins, and assess commercial risks.
• Coordinate technical submissions, specifications, and pricing approvals with factories, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Project Execution & Coordination

• Coordinate purchase orders with suppliers and factories, ensuring alignment with project scope, budgets, and timelines.
• Manage project schedules, bank guarantees, technical documentation, inspections, shipping, and site activities.
• Monitor project progress, resolve delays, and coordinate variations, change orders, and additional work.
• Liaise with customers, EPC contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery and quality compliance.

Invoicing & Project Closeout

• Prepare customer invoices and supporting documents according to contractual milestones.
• Monitor receivables, follow up on outstanding payments, and coordinate vendor invoices and payment processing.
• Track actual project costs against budgets, manage cash flow, and identify margin risks.
• Coordinate final deliverables, guarantee releases, cost reconciliation, and project closeout.
