Job summary

Solarvest is seeking a detail-oriented Project Development Engineer to support the proposal and development of commercial and industrial solar projects in Malaysia. You will collaborate with sales and design teams to deliver optimized, cost-effective energy solutions.

The role requires 2–4 years in solar project development, proficiency with PVsyst/AutoCAD/Helioscope, and a strong grasp of regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Renewable Energy Engineering or related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in project development, proposal engineering, or similar role in solar/renewable energy.
• Experience in commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the sales team to analyze client requirements and develop customized solar solutions for commercial and industrial clients.
• Prepare detailed technical proposals, including system design, layouts, equipment specifications, and project cost estimations.
• Conduct preliminary feasibility studies, including energy yield assessments.
• Perform site visits to assess potential project locations, including roof structures, shading analysis, and electrical system compatibility.
• Evaluate site constraints, grid connection feasibility, and project risks.
• Develop preliminary designs using industry-standard tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope).
• Optimize system layouts, equipment selection, and configurations to meet performance, budget, and client requirements.
• Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), solar PV system schematics, and other necessary documentation for proposals.
• Develop detailed BOM and project cost estimations; work with procurement to source materials.
• Provide technical support and presentations to clients during the proposal stage; liaise with internal teams to ensure alignment on deliverables.
• Ensure proposed systems comply with local regulations, safety standards, and grid requirements in Malaysia.
• Stay updated on latest solar PV technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes; propose innovative solutions to enhance proposals.

• Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience:
    • 2-4 years of experience in project development, proposal engineering, or a similar role in the solar energy or renewable energy industry.
    • Experience in commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).
    • Strong understanding of photovoltaic (PV) systems, inverters, mounting structures, and energy storage systems.
    • Knowledge of Malaysian renewable energy policies, grid interconnection processes, and technical standards.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with clients and internal teams.

• Preferred Qualifications:
