We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Control Manager to oversee project planning, scheduling, cost control, progress monitoring, forecasting, and reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within the approved schedule, budget, and performance targets, while providing management with accurate and timely project information for effective decision-making.
Role & Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the overall project controls functions, including project planning, scheduling, progress control, cost control, project costing, reporting, and document/database management.
Establish, develop, maintain, and continuously improve project control and costing tools, systems, databases, guidelines, and procedures.
Establish and develop appropriate project execution schedules and planning models for projects and tenders.
Set up and maintain project schedules, including baseline schedules, detailed work programmes, milestones, critical path, look-ahead schedules, and progress measurement systems.
Determine and monitor the project critical path, key milestones, schedule risks, and necessary mitigation measures.
Monitor project progress periodically and provide timely advice to Project Management on schedule performance, delays, risks, and corrective actions.
Supervise the maintenance and updating of document control databases
Identify and coordinate suitable contracting resources for umbrella contract applications.
Interface and coordinate with relevant departments, contractors, subcontractors, and clients for work execution under umbrella contracts.
Develop standardization in proposal book, write up, risk assessment, formatting for cost and unit rate.
Enhance project costing estimation and control tools.
Periodically analysis of past and current project costing data for future improvement.
Perform any other duties and responsibilities related to project control, planning, costing, and project management as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Possess a recognized Degree in any discipline from a recognized institution.
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in Oil & Gas downstream projects.
Minimum seven (7) years of experience as Project Control Manager in the Oil & Gas industry.
Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, progress control, cost control, project costing, forecasting, and project reporting.
Experience in a Project Control Manager, Project Controls Lead, Planning Manager, Senior Project Planner, or equivalent position will be an advantage.
Good knowledge and understanding of project management principles, project controls, construction processes, and project execution methodologies.
Proficient in project planning tools such as Microsoft Project. Knowledge of Primavera P6 will be an added advantage.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
Japanese language proficiency is an added advantage.
Knowledge in construction contract and computer literate in MS Project.
Able to work in teams or as independent and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willing to work extended hours when required to meet project deadlines and business requirements.
