Job summary

Affinity Offshore Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced Project Architect to lead the design of marine living quarters, accommodation modules, deckhouses and habitability spaces for vessels and offshore installations. You will develop layouts, elevations and cross sections, manage the architectural team, and ensure drawings meet marine standards and regulatory requirements.

Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D, AVEVA E3D Design & Navisworks, Intergraph S3D, Autodesk Inventor, 3Ds Max and Photoshop is required,

Qualifications

• Degree or above qualification in Architecture.
• Minimum of five years as an architect, preferably marine/offshore.
• Proficient in architectural software and technology listed above.

Responsibilities

• Produce project-related engineering and design deliverables for marine living quarters and accommodation areas.
• Prepare and develop layouts, elevations, and cross sections per marine design and classification requirements.
• Lead architectural team in surveys and preparation of survey notes for drawings and specs.
• Interact with clients, naval architects, and stakeholders to implement plans.
• Maintain drawings, specifications, and survey notes in an organised, retrievable manner.
• Ensure compliance with architectural guidelines, marine standards, and classification society requirements.
• Prepare architectural drawings to meet client and regulatory specs.
• Work with AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D, Navisworks, S3D, Inventor, 3Ds Max, and Photoshop to deliver designs.
• Create designs to meet client specs, estimate budgets/times, and liaise between client and team.
• Attend client meetings and design reviews; provide solutions for layout challenges.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Architect to join our team designing marine living quarters — accommodation modules, deckhouses, and habitability spaces for vessels and offshore installations. This role involves producing project-related engineering and design deliverables that meet marine regulatory, safety, and habitability standards. You will prepare and develop layouts, elevations, and cross sections, interact with clients and classification bodies to implement project plans and goals, and maintain all architectural drawings, plans, client specifications, and survey notes in an organised manner.

Key responsibilities

Produce project-related engineering and design deliverables for marine living quarters and accommodation areas

Prepare and develop layouts, elevations, and cross sections in line with marine design and classification requirements

Take responsibility for the architectural team in dimensional surveys and preparation of survey notes relating to architectural drawings and specifications

Interact with clients, naval architects, and project stakeholders to implement their plans and goals in architectural project deliverables

Maintain all architectural drawings, plans, client specifications, and survey notes in an organised and retrievable manner

Ensure compliance with all architectural guidelines, marine industry standards, and classification society requirements

Prepare and develop architectural drawings to meet client and regulatory specifications

Work with software such as AutoCAD 2D/3D, REVIT Architecture and MEP, 3Ds Max, and Photoshop to produce design deliverables

Create designs to meet client specifications, propose budget and time estimations, and act as intermediary between the client and the architectural team

Attend client meetings and design reviews, and provide solutions for complex technical and layout challenges

Able to work across different environments, including site, shipyard, and office settings, as required

Able to identify and deliver the best solutions for complex technical problems and design challenges

Capable of managing multiple architectural processes and issues simultaneously

Competencies & Qualifications

Degree or above qualification in Architecture

At least 5 years of experience working as an architect, ideally within marine, offshore, or related industries

Proficiency in architectural software and technology, especially AutoCAD 2D/3D, AVEVA E3D Design & Navisworks, Intergraph Smart 3D (S3D), and Autodesk Inventor

Strong design and conceptualisation abilities

Excellent project management and leadership skills

Attention to detail and accuracy in drawings and specifications

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Strong understanding of construction materials and techniques, including marine-grade materials

Effective communication and collaboration skills

Able to work under minimum supervision
