Job summary

SSH Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project and Process Optimization Drafter to support manufacturing engineering by designing processes and procedures that improve production performance. The role involves CAM programming, CAD modeling, and creating work instructions to implement improvements.

The Drafter will review drawings, analyze machine operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce cycle time, improve quality, and minimize downtime in a compliant ISO 9001:2015

Qualifications

• Experience implementing lean techniques to reduce waste and improve throughput.
• Ability to read technical drawings and develop 2D/3D part models.
• Proficiency in CAM/CNC programming and creating Work Instructions.

Project and Process Optimization - Drafter

• To assist COO in all manufacturing engineering process and project development by designing processes and procedures to aid and improve production operational performance.
• To provides technical knowledge, initiating processes change/enhancement and implementation of improvement plan for the production and other ad-hoc jobs assigned by Management

b) Responsibilities

• To drive continuously improvement activities in quality, cycle time, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing process and to minimize waste
• Review drawings and specifications of a particular product and the plan production process.
• Analyse machine's operation time or downtime, identify trends and develop solutions
• Produces machined parts by setting up and write CAM program, which includes generating CAM and machining process according to the decision made in the part review and simulate the process to ensure the manufacturing processes are suitable and safe.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase productivity and reduce machinery downtime which requires the knowledge of various axis of turning and milling machine as well as their controller. Including generating CNC program with associated tooling information in Work Instruction.
• To read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, parts requirement, generate 2D/3D model drawings of part via CAD software according to dimensions.
• To find best alternative optimization solution under a specific criterion in the manufacturing environment as well as defining issues within existing work tasks and generate multiple solutions, implementing the best options and following up the implementation phase.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement within Engineering Department as well as initiate and implementing improvement initiatives such as reducing cycle time, improving quality or optimizing resources.
• Troubleshoot set-ups, fixturing and appropriate usage of tooling.
• Develop and maintain Work Instruction for the manufacturing process to ensure consistency and standardization.
• To document step-by-step procedures, including tooling requirement, machine settings and quality checks.
• To document PDCA, preventive and corrective actions to address the identified Non-Conformances, including any changes to CNC programs or tooling selection.
• To address internal department issues and develop solutions to optimize project/process execution
• Responsible to understand SSH Manufacturing Sdn Bhd. quality policy, objectives and basic knowledge of quality management system that is based on ISO 9001:2015.
• To collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Ensure the work environment is clean and organized and that safety protocols are followed
