AirAsia in Sepang, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead strategic technology programs across the AirAsia Group. You will govern multiple interdependent projects, align with business objectives, and deliver outcomes within scope, time, budget, and quality.
You will report to the Head, ICT PMO and manage a team of Project Managers, driving collaboration, governance, and continuous improvement across cross-functional teams.

As a Program Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of strategic technology programs across the AirAsia Group, ensuring multiple interdependent projects are delivered in alignment with business objectives.
Reporting to the Head, ICT PMO, you will provide program leadership, governance, stakeholder management, and delivery oversight while managing a team of Project Managers. You will work closely with senior business and technology leaders to ensure program outcomes are delivered within agreed scope, timeline, budget, quality, and business value.
You will champion governance, foster collaboration across cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in program delivery and project management practices.
Lead and manage multiple related projects as a single program to achieve strategic business outcomes.
Develop and maintain integrated program roadmaps, schedules, milestones, and dependencies.
Drive program delivery to ensure business objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
Manage program interdependencies and proactively resolve delivery risks and conflicts.
Establish and maintain program governance, ensuring compliance with PMO standards, methodologies, and reporting requirements.
Govern program scope, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, change requests, and escalations.
Monitor program health through regular reviews, metrics, and executive reporting.
Lead Steering Committee meetings and executive governance forums.
Build strong partnerships with business sponsors, technology teams, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
Define program success criteria and align stakeholder expectations throughout the program lifecycle.
Communicate program progress, key decisions, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Oversee program resource planning and capacity management across multiple projects.
Monitor program budgets, forecasts, financial performance, and resource utilization.
Support prioritization of initiatives based on business value and organizational capacity.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers.
Provide coaching on project management best practices, governance, and delivery excellence.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Drive improvements to PMO methodologies, governance frameworks, templates, and delivery processes.
Promote lessons learned and best practices across programs and project teams.
Support organizational change management and adoption initiatives where required.
Minimum 8 years of experience in IT Project Management, including more than 5 years managing large-scale programs.
Proven experience delivering complex, cross-functional technology programs across multiple business units or geographies.
Demonstrated experience managing teams of Project Managers delivering medium to large initiatives.
Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to influence senior executives and business leaders.
Strong strategic planning, prioritization, and decision-making capabilities.
Solid discipline in governance, risk management, issue management, dependency management, and change control.
Experience managing program budgets, resource planning, and financial forecasting.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with strong executive presence.
Proficient in Microsoft Project and modern project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Professional Project Management certification is required, such as:
PMP
Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or equivalent Agile certification
Program Management certification (PgMP, MSP, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Based in Sepang (next to KLIA2) with travel required when necessary to collaborate with business and technology stakeholders across the region.
