Job summary

NationGate Group in Penang is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the line, drive daily target achievement, and uphold strict quality standards in a dynamic EMS environment.

You will train subordinates, monitor performance, coordinate with QA, maintenance and planning, and ensure compliance with safety and company procedures while fostering teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• SPM qualification or equivalent; fresh graduates welcome.
• At least 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Good leadership and communication skills.
• Able to lead and supervise subordinates.
• Knowledge of production planning and daily operations.
• Must comply with safety and company procedures.
• Able to monitor production targets and quality.

Responsibilities

• Production targets: achieve daily production targets for allocated line.
• Train subordinates on required procedures and safety.
• Direct, control and motivate production staff.
• Provide production records and performance indices to Production Manager.
• Coordinate with QA to address quality issues and prevent recurrences.
• Report process malfunctions to Production Manager and liaise with Maintenance/Engineering to resolve.

Job description

Responsible for production to achieve production plan in respective line.

Responsible for training requirement for its subordinates.

Continuously work to reduce operating cost by optimizing resources.

Responsible for daily production target achievement of allocated area.

Ensure production quality standards are complied with.

Direct, control and motivate production staff in all aspects affecting work performance.

Provide production records and other performance indices to the Production Manager whenever required.

Ensure subordinates comply with the required procedures and instructions.

Liaise with QA on quality problems and take the necessary counter measures to prevent recurrences.

To report process malfunction to the Production Manager and liaise with Maintenance and Engineering to resolve the problem.

To liaise with Material / Production Planning, Personnel & Administration and concerned departments to ensure production goals are realized

Job requirements:

Possess basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Minimum SPM qualification or equivalent. Candidates with at least three (3) years of relevant working experience in a manufacturing or production environment are preferred. Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Possess good leadership, communication and supervisory skills, with the ability to lead, guide, monitor and manage subordinates effectively.

Good understanding of production processes, production planning and daily operational activities.

Ability to monitor production performance, ensure product quality and achieve production targets.

Ability to ensure compliance with company policies, work procedures, workplace safety requirements and applicable rules and regulations.

Our customers comprise mainly of multinational companies from various industry market segments such as networking & communications, instrumentation, automotive, medical and consumer products.

NationGate Group’s activities are conducted at 5 manufacturing plants located in the Prai Industrial Estate, Penang. Two plants are dedicated to EMS while the remaining plant is for high precision plastic molding activities. Our EMS activities which are segregated between printed circuit board assembly and final assembly. In addition, our Group provide value-added services which include provision of contract design, prototyping for manufacturability, supply chain management, testing and final packaging as part of our integrated capabilities. We provide high precision plastic molding services for standalone orders and as a package complementing our EMS when undertaking final assembly for our customers. In 2014, we commenced manufacturing and sale of LED lighting products for residential, commercial and industrial use under our own brand name, BriteGate.
