Job summary

Samtec Asia Pacific (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a Production Supervisor to lead a manufacturing team, ensuring safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost targets in a fast-paced electronics assembly environment.

The role requires strong data analysis, people management, and Lean/Six Sigma knowledge, with good communication and MS Office proficiency. A high school diploma is required; a BS in engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong in data analysis and is data driven.
• Experience with process knowledge for related area.
• Excellent problem solving, investigation skills, and needs to be detail oriented.
• People management and leadership skills.
• Understand manufacturing concept; lean and six sigma preferred.
• Good communication skills – written & verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
• Team player; able to work with Operators, Floor Managers, Engineers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and supervise a team to achieve objectives.
• Own the area and be accountable for performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery, cost).
• Communicate company policies to production team; ensure EHS and quality compliance.
• Provide training and ensure certifications; follow SOP/WI.
• Conduct regular 1:1 and team meetings for updates and development.
• Enforce PPE and LOTO; maintain safe working environment.
• Produce according to prints to meet industry standards and customer expectations.
• Initiate quality improvements to meet OD and PPM targets.
• Contain and investigate quality issues with MQS/technicians to minimize cost.
