Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Production/Operations supervisor to coordinate department activities, ensure on-time production without compromising quality, and uphold strong EHS and 5S practices on the factory floor. You will promote ISO, SOPP, WI, and OMS requirements while driving continuous improvement.

You will also plan manpower, manage budgets, train staff, and analyze data to improve production performance and safety standards across the line.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of working experience.
• Basic knowledge of air conditioning systems.
• Basic understanding of the ISO Quality Management System.
• Quality control knowledge and experience.
• Basic knowledge of ERP systems.
• Process improvement skills.
• Ability to manage and supervise production operators.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all activities within the department to meet production schedules without compromising quality or delivery targets.
• Maintain 5S standards and a safe, healthy factory environment.
• Lead by example to support EHS improvements.
• Plan and control manpower, overtime, and materials usage.
• Promote ISO, SOPP, WI, and OMS requirements in Production/Maintenance.
• Upgrade workers’ skills through training programs.
• Analyze line quality issues and organize corrective actions.
• Gather and analyze data for production improvements.
• Ensure schedule adherence on each line.
• Drive continuous improvement for quality and productivity.
• Perform monthly production WIP stock takes and logs.
• Oversee budget and appraisal activities for new staff.
• Ensure employees meet safety obligations and receive proper EHS training.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Head of Department, Manager, Operations Manager, or General Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating all activities within the respective department to ensure that production schedules are met without compromising product quality or delivery targets. The incumbent will implement company policies and promote the company's philosophy, while instilling awareness among employees to achieve organizational objectives. The role is also responsible for maintaining a high standard of 5S practices and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment on the factory floor. In addition, the incumbent will demonstrate visible leadership through daily actions that support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) improvements.

How you will do it:

• To plan and control manpower / overtime / raw materials and parts usage in respective department.
• To emphasize the implementation of ISO, SOPP, WI, and OMS requirement at Production / Maintenance department.
• To upgrade workers’ skill and knowledge through implementing training program.
• To ensure safe working environment in the production division. To monitor / handle workers’ discipline issues.
• To analyze line’s quality issues and organize for corrective and preventive action.
• To gather and analyze data for production improvement.
• To ensure schedule adherence on the individual line.
• To be continuous improvement driver for quality & productivity.
• To perform monthly production WIP stock take / error log clearing
• Uphold safety values, perform work activities in a safe manner and adhere to the responsibilities outlined in “Our Safety Commitment” statement
• Ensure all employees under your direct management perform their safety obligations
• Ensure a proper environmental, health and safety (EHS) management system is in place to identify and define the processes and procedures required.
• Ensure all employees receive the proper EHS training and induction prior to commencing their duties
• To perform and commit to other duties and activities assigned by the superior
• To supervise and control production budget
• To assist production HOD to do appraisal works such as performance review, new employees appraisal and job transfer
• Accountable for daily production output
