Job summary

Small Tool Technology (Melaka) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Production Planner to plan and schedule production activities based on orders, capacity, and material availability. You will coordinate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of raw materials and monitor multiple stages of fabrication to maintain a smooth workflow.

You will track progress from material arrival through fabrication, liaise with QC for inspections, and plan rework when quality issues arise to meet revised

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of production planning experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected; knowledge of fabrication processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of fabrication processes procedures will be added value.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production activities based on orders, capacity, and materials.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of raw materials.
• Monitor production stages to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery.
• Track job progress from material arrival through fabrication and finishing stages.
• Liaise with QC to ensure inspections are completed promptly.
• Plan and schedule rework for quality-rejected parts with QC and production.
• Meet On-Time Delivery targets by monitoring progress and adjusting schedules.
• Compare planned schedules with actual performance and revise as needed.
• Ensure finished goods are ready for shipment according to schedule.
• Identify and resolve production delays, material or machine shortages, or resource conflicts.
• Maintain accurate records of production status for reporting and planning.
• Other tasks assigned by superior.

Job description

Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of raw materials.

Monitor production stages (cutting, fabrication, welding, assembly, painting, etc.) to ensure smooth workflow.

Track job progress from material arrival through fabrication and finishing stages.

Liaise with the QC team to ensure inspections are completed promptly.

Plan and schedule rework for quality-rejected parts, coordinating closely with QC and production to meet revised deadlines.

Ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets are met by proactively monitoring progress, anticipating delays, and adjusting schedules as needed.

Control and compare planned schedules vs. actual performance, identify variances, and revise schedules as needed to keep production on track.

Ensure finished goods are ready for shipment according to schedule.

Identify and resolve production delays, material, machine shortages, or resource conflicts.

Maintain accurate records of production status for reporting and planning purposes.
