Job summary

GRAND VENTURE TECHNOLOGY (JOHOR) SDN. BHD. seeks a Production Engineer to support the Production Manager in managing and improving manufacturing operations in Malaysia.

You will help ensure efficient, reliable, and safe processes while complying with engineering and quality requirements. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning and Production teams to implement process plans, develop production documentation, support new product introduction, and resolve production-related issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of manufacturing/production/process engineering experience preferred.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, process control, and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with BOM, engineering drawings, CAD, work instructions, SOPs, and process specifications.
• Knowledge of RCA, CAPA, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with Production, Engineering, Quality and Planning teams.
• Detail oriented, proactive, independent, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good understanding of 5S, workplace safety, and quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager in planning, coordination, and execution of daily production operations.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Planning to ensure smooth implementation of production and process plans.
• Monitor production progress, WIP, productivity, output, and performance to meet delivery and quality targets.
• Develop, review, and maintain Work Instructions (WI), SOPs, assembly procedures, and process specifications.
• Create clear visual work instructions using photos, diagrams, flowcharts, and CAD drawings.
• Maintain accurate, controlled production documentation per QMS.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects to boost productivity, quality, cost and efficiency.
• Provide technical support to operators and supervisors in resolving process, equipment, and manufacturing issues.
• Ensure processes are established and validated before mass production.
• Monitor compliance with process parameters, specifications, SOPs and quality requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
• Promote safe working environment and 5S practices.

Job description

We are seeking a Production Engineer to support the Production Manager in managing and improving manufacturing operations. The role is responsible for ensuring production processes are efficient, reliable, safe, and compliant with engineering and quality requirements.

The Production Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Production teams to implement process plans, improve manufacturing efficiency, develop production documentation, support new product introduction, and resolve production-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Production Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of daily production operations.
• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams to ensure smooth implementation of production and process plans.
• Monitor production progress, WIP, productivity, output, and production performance to achieve delivery and quality targets.
• Develop, prepare, review, and maintain Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), assembly procedures, and process specifications based on engineering requirements, BOMs, drawings, and quality standards.
• Develop clear visual work instructions using photographs, diagrams, flowcharts, and CAD drawings to improve operator understanding and process consistency.
• Ensure production documentation is accurate, controlled, updated, and properly maintained in accordance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects to improve productivity, quality, cost, and process efficiency.
• Provide technical support to production operators and supervisors in resolving process, equipment, and manufacturing issues.
• Work with relevant departments to ensure manufacturing processes are properly established and validated before mass production.
• Monitor compliance with approved process parameters, engineering specifications, SOPs, and quality requirements.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and manufacturing efficiency improvements.
• Support production planning and ensure manufacturing activities are completed according to the required schedule.
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.
• Ensure good 5S practices are maintained throughout the production area.
• Perform other duties and improvement projects as assigned by the Production Manager.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.

Preferably 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, process engineering, or a related field.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production flow, process control, and engineering documentation.

Familiarity with BOM, engineering drawings, CAD, work instructions, SOPs, and process specifications.

Knowledge of RCA, CAPA, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
