Now, with annual production capacity of 30,000MT, SMI is one of the state-of-the-art integrated leading aluminium smelting plant in Malaysia, Bukit Rambai Industrial Area, Melaka.
A Production Executive in the smelting industry manages daily operations of furnaces and casting machines. Responsible for optimizing production output, ensuring metal quality, and maintaining strict safety and environmental standards.
Job Description (Key Responssibilities):-
Implement production schedules to meet daily/weekly/monthly targets while maximizing machinery capacity (e.g., furnaces and casting machines).
Optimize the smelting process—loading materials, monitoring temperature, and adjusting alloy compositions.
Coordinate with the raw material team to manage inventory levels.
Ensure all molten metal meets composition and purity specifications before casting.
Investigate root causes of off-specification material.
Maintain documentation such as Batch Production Records (BPR) or Control Records (BCR).
Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations (OSHA/local regulations) and safe handling of hazardous equipment/molten metal.
Oversee pollution control equipment to adhere to environmental regulations.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime through preventive maintenance scheduling.
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce yield loss and minimize production costs.
Supervise shift workers, assign tasks, and ensure proper manpower allocation.
Train workers in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
Academy : Possess at least Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering or equivalent. A foundation in electronics, physics,radiography and good in mathematics is beneficial.
Experience : Fresh graduates encouraged to apply. Possess 1-2 years working experience in related field is beneficial.
Skills : Able to communicate in English & Bahasa Malaysia Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Familiarity with quality control procedures and safety regulations. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for production planning and reporting. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead by example. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks Possess of ISO knowledge. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Good communication skill.
