The Production Engineer will plan, direct, and optimize manufacturing processes to maximize uptime, reduce scrap, and ensure quality targets are met safely, on time, and within budget. The role focuses on monitoring daily output, coordinating maintenance, and driving Lean improvements across furnaces, lines, and galvanizing steps, to sustain competitiveness in SEA

Qualifications

• Collaborate with QC on coating and wrapping tests.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance for furnaces and lines.
• Analyze machine breakdowns using root-cause analysis.
• Manage spare parts for drawing dies and electrodes.
• Enforce DOSH/JKKP regulations for heavy machinery safety.
• Maintain safety protocols around acid and zinc baths.
• Ensure PPE usage across the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily output to meet delivery schedules
• Allocate manpower and machines efficiently across shifts
• Track material usage for wire rods, zinc, and chemicals
• Minimize setup times during gauge size changeovers
• Optimize drawing speeds to reduce wire breakage
• Control galvanizing parameters like temperature and dipping time
• Adjust welding parameters for strong mesh joints
• Implement Lean tools to cut down metal scrap
• Enforce SIRIM standards for wire tensile strength
• Troubleshoot surface defects like zinc sagging or brittleness
