Job summary

Vitally Industries Sdn Bhd in Muar District, Johor is seeking a dedicated Production Engineer to join our engineering team. This full-time role focuses on optimising manufacturing processes, improving productivity, and lowering costs while maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will design and refine workflows, monitor equipment performance, collaborate with QA, maintenance, and procurement, and mentor shop floor staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years in production engineering or similar operational role.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery operations and production systems.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and safety regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.
• Monitor production operations and equipment performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new production methods and technologies.
• Collaborate with quality assurance, maintenance and procurement to ensure seamless production workflows.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation including process flowcharts, SOPs and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and develop practical solutions to minimise downtime.
• Perform capacity planning and scheduling to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Train and mentor production staff on new processes and equipment operation.

About the role

Vitally Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and innovative Production Engineer to join our engineering team in Muar District, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in optimising our manufacturing operations and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. As a Production Engineer, you will be at the heart of our production facility, bridging the gap between design and manufacturing whilst driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity and reduce costs. Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in production engineering, manufacturing or a similar operational engineering role
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery operations and production systems
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex production challenges and develop practical solutions
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards, quality management systems (ISO 9001) and workplace regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety
• Preferred experience in mechanical component manufacturing, automotive or precision engineering industries would be advantageous
