FSP Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Production cum Maintenance Engineer to join our new manufacturing facility in i-TechValley, Iskandar Puteri, Johor. The role combines production oversight with preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure high equipment uptime and productivity.

You will lead maintenance planning, supervise a team, and work closely with operations to drive continuous improvement and safety compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Eng or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in Production cum Maintenance Engineer role.
• Experience with CNC machining operations and troubleshooting.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and supervise daily production operations to meet targets and quality standards.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, production metrics, and equipment performance.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to optimise equipment availability.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Train and support production staff on equipment operation and basic maintenance.
• Liaise with external contractors for specialised maintenance as required.
• Prepare technical reports and performance analyses for management decisions.

About the role

We are seeking a Production cum Maintenance Engineer to join us in a full-time capacity, based in i-TechValley Iskandar Puteri, Johor. This role is instrumental in supporting the setup, commissioning, and operational readiness of our new manufacturing facility. You will oversee day-to-day production activities and manage preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure efficient production operations, equipment reliability, and minimal downtime. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the successful establishment and growth of our new facility while driving productivity, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise daily production operations to ensure targets are met and quality standards are maintained
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and preventative maintenance programmes to minimise unscheduled downtime
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, coordinating repairs and maintenance activities with appropriate teams
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, production metrics, and equipment performance data
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimise equipment availability and production efficiency
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify and address process improvements and efficiency opportunities
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across production and maintenance activities
• Train and support production staff on equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures
• Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for specialised maintenance and equipment servicing as required
• Prepare technical reports and performance analyses to support management decision‑making

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of working experience in a Production cum Maintenance Engineer capacity.
• Proven track record in handling fast‑paced production operations.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and handling a workforce of at least 30 pax.
• Extensive hands‑on knowledge of CNC machining, including operations and troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of facilities and utilities maintenance.
• Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and manpower management capabilities.
• Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills for both operational workflow and technical equipment issues.
• Have experience using Mastercam, Solidcam or other CAM software
• Preferred to have cleanroom operation knowledge.
• Preferred to have strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Capability to perform root-cause failure analysis (RCFA) and track Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
