in Malaysia seeks a Production Assistant/Coordinator to support the Production Manager in planning daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules and to ensure targets align with customer orders and shipment requirements. The role covers coordinating raw material availability, capacity, manpower and equipment, supervising processing operations, QA/QC collaboration, and maintaining GMP/HACCP compliance to uphold product quality and safety.
Assist the Production Manager in planning daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
Ensure production targets are achieved according to customer orders and shipment requirements.
Coordinate raw material availability, production capacity, manpower, and equipment.
Monitor production progress and resolve delays or bottlenecks.
Supervise seafood processing activities such as receiving, grading, cleaning, cutting, filleting, processing, packing, freezing, and storage.
Ensure products are processed according to company specifications and customer requirements.
Monitor production yield and minimize raw material wastage.
Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and company quality standards.
Work closely with the QA/QC team to control product quality.
Ensure proper temperature control for chilled and frozen seafood.
Investigate production-related quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Supervise production workers, operators, and line leaders.
Allocate manpower according to production requirements.
Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and work performance.
Provide training and coaching to production employees.
Monitor production output, productivity, yield, downtime, and wastage.
Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives and standard operating procedures.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure production machinery and equipment are operational.
Report equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
Ensure machinery is operated safely and according to operating procedures.
Monitor the availability and usage of seafood raw materials, packaging materials, and production supplies.
Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable.
Reduce raw material loss, spoilage, and unnecessary wastage.
Ensure employees follow workplace safety, personal hygiene, PPE, and sanitation requirements.
Conduct regular checks of production areas and identify potential hazards.
Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of processing areas and equipment.
Maintain accurate production records, production reports, yield reports, wastage reports, and downtime records.
Prepare daily/weekly production performance reports for management.
Ensure traceability records are properly maintained.
Coordinate with QA/QC, Warehouse, Maintenance, Purchasing, HR, Sales, and Logistics.
Ensure production activities support export and delivery schedules.
Communicate production issues and corrective actions to management promptly.
