We are looking for a Product Manager (Plantation) to lead the development and improvement of technology-driven solutions for the oil palm plantation industry. The ideal candidate should understand plantation operations and be able to work closely with customers, Business Analysts, Product Engineers, developers and technical teams. Knowledge or experience in Robotics, AI , IoT, GIS, automation or plantation management systems will be an added advantage.
Manage and oversee the development and improvement of plantation-related products.
Understand oil palm plantation operations and identify product improvement opportunities.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients during discovery, demonstrations, implementation, testing, training, rollout, and post-implementation support.
Gather, analyse, document, confirm, and prioritise client requirements, change requests, product enhancements, and reported issues.
Translate operational needs into clear product requirements, workflows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and priorities for Business Analysts, developers, and technical teams.
Define product direction, goals, priorities and roadmap. Maintain clear trackers for requirements, issues, owners, target dates, progress, evidence, and client acceptance.
Identify and prioritise new features and product enhancements based on customer and business needs.
Work closely with Business Analysts to define and document product requirements.
Collaborate with Product Engineers, developers and technical teams to deliver product features.
Gather customer and user feedback to identify product issues and improvement opportunities.
Monitor product development progress and ensure priorities are achieved.
Support product testing, implementation, training and rollout.
Conduct product demonstrations and discussions with clients and stakeholders.
Provide clients and management with accurate and timely progress updates, especially for urgent operational matters or delivery delays.
Plan and coordinate system testing, field testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training, data validation, rollout, and client sign-off.
Conduct product demonstrations, client presentations, user training, and operational discussions in clear and simple language.
Conduct plantation, nursery, dealer, and client-site visits to understand workflows, validate requirements, and support implementation.
Support product-related presales activities, solution discussions, demonstrations, and proposal preparation when required.
Travel to project sites and support urgent client or system matters outside normal working hours when reasonably required.
Perform other reasonable product and implementation responsibilities assigned by the Company.
Professional, presentable, well-groomed, confident, and comfortable representing the Company in client meetings and field environments.
Communicates clearly, politely, and professionally with senior management, plantation personnel, nursery teams, dealers, and technical staff.
Able to explain digital products and technical matters in simple, practical language.
Calm, reasonable, and solution-focused when handling complaints, pressure, or urgent field issues.
Responsive and able to act quickly while checking facts, operational impact, and risks.
Takes ownership of problems and follows through until the client and internal teams confirm closure.
Able to manage expectations honestly without making unrealistic promises on scope, cost, performance, or delivery dates.
Organized and consistent in recording decisions, following up actions, and keeping stakeholders informed.
Hands-on experience managing or supervising an oil palm plantation or nursery.
Knowledge of FFB dealer operations, weighbridge processes, MPOB reporting, or smallholder supply chains.
Strong interest in agricultural robotics, mechanisation, autonomous machines, drones, machine vision, or field automation.
Experience with AI, IoT, GIS, analytics, mobile applications, NFC, GPS, or plantation management systems.
Experience in conducting product demonstrations, technical presentations, client training, or presales discussions.
Experience working with multilingual or international clients.
Ability to communicate in Mandarin.
Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Plantation Management, Business, Engineering or a related field.
Experience in product management, product development, digital transformation, technology solutions or related roles is preferred.
Strong understanding or experience in oil palm plantation operations is an advantage.
Experience working with software development, engineering or technology teams is an advantage.
Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into product opportunities and priorities.
Strong decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple product initiatives and priorities.
