Job summary

Wistron Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd seeks a Product Engineer to support EMS-driven product development and validation across PVT to MP stages, ensuring accurate BOMs, docs and production configurations.

The role requires hands-on analysis of failures, ECN/ECO management, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing, QA and suppliers. Candidates should be ready for rotating day and night shifts and hold a relevant engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, software engineering or related field.
• Experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS).
• Background as PE, FAE, EE, or in consumer electronics products.
• Experience in NPI, pilot/trial production, mass-production introduction, or product lifecycle management.
• Experience in production yield improvement, failure analysis, engineering change management, or material validation.
• Willing to work on rotating day & night shift

Responsibilities

• Understand the product development and validation flow from PVT/EVT/DVT/MVT and Pilot Run to MP.
• Track NPI stage test plans and review test coverage.
• Prepare bug lists and perform issue tracking.
• Maintain product BOMs, specifications, engineering documents, and production configurations.
• Ensure the production line uses correct part numbers, revisions, test programs, and work instructions.
• Manage ECN, ECO and internal change control processes.
• Analyze failures from NPI, mass production, ORT, reliability testing, RMA and customer returns.
• Lead technical issue meetings and track action items.
• Report on product status, risks, root-cause analysis and improvement of progress to customers and management.
• Act as the technical product interface, coordinating R&D, Customer, Manufacturing, QA, TE, AFTE, SQM, PMC and suppliers.

Job description

Understand the product development and validation flow from PVT/EVT/DVT/MVT and Pilot Run to MP.

Track NPI stage test plans and review test coverage.

Prepare bug lists and perform issue tracking.

2. Product Engineering standard operations

Maintain product BOMs, product specifications, engineering documents, and production configurations.

Ensure the production line uses correct part numbers, revisions, test programs, and work instructions.

Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and internal change control processes.

3. Production of Abnormalities and Failure Analysis

Analyze failures from NPI, mass production, ORT, reliability testing, RMA and customer returns.

Use methods such as 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa), 8D, Pareto, Fault Tree Analysis, and DOE for problem analysis.

Define immediate containment, corrective actions, and preventive actions.

Capable of mainboard (MB) failure analysis: read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, Boardview, PCB layouts, BOMs and component datasheets; perform fault localization, measurement verification and component-level repair based on circuit logic. Able to use tools such as oscilloscope

4. Cross-functional and Customer Communication

Act as the technical product interface, coordinating R&D, Customer, Manufacturing, QA, TE, AFTE, SQM, PMC and suppliers.

Lead technical issue meetings and track action items.

Report on product status, risks, root-cause analysis and improvement of progress to customers and management.

Job Requirements:
