Job summary

ams OSRAM in Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineer to manage the product life cycle for LED products (with/without built-in IC). IC knowledge is a plus.

The role involves yield data management, BOM updates, PFMEA, and coordinating with Process Engineering/Production teams to drive yield improvements. Strong communication with Europe/China is valued; LED manufacturing and semiconductor knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree (Bachelor/Master) in Materials, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or Physics, Manufacturing Engineering.
• Min 3 years in LED Manufacturing/Semiconductors; IC knowledge is a plus.
• Min 5 years of experience in Product Engineering, Development or Characterization in LED manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage product life cycle for LED products (with/without built-in IC). IC knowledge is an added advantage.
• Lead yield data management: data collection, analysis, target setting and forecast yield.
• Collaborate with Process Engineering, Chip Change and Production teams to drive yield improvements.
• Update and revise product BOMs, set up new product 11series, maintain PFMEA and product flow charts.
• Participate in low-complexity projects such as chip changes and derivative products; respond to customer change requests.
• Monitor PVDB changes and approve test program updates; oversee static distribution and quality improvements.
• Lead/ support internal and external quality issues: product traceability, risk assessment and coordination of reliability monitoring.

Job description

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise.

• Responsible & Manage Product Life Cycle for LED products (with /without built-in IC). Knowledge & Technical Know-How on IC will be an added advantage.
• Responsible for product yield data, yield data analysis, yield target setting and forecast yield setting. Overview of product status, early involvement in R&D new release product to ensure no manufacturing/ production spill. Drive & work together with Process Engineering/Chip Change/Production team on product yield improvement activities to ensure product yield target is achieve.
• Responsible for the update/revise of product BOM, new product 11series setup, product accounting standard, product flow chart & product failure catalogue and PFMEA. Participate & support in the low complex projects / change project activities, such as chip change/phase in, new derivative products and etc. Contact point for customer new requirement change/ add-on, such as change product biasing/test condition, etc. Drive/participate in productivity improvement projects.
• To be responsible for PVDB static changes, include review PVDB static changes and approve the change & request for test program update.
• To monitor static distribution, drive for static spec optimization to prevent invalid failure and for abnormality detection. To be responsible for FBA/ AFBA maverick procedure, maverick lot disposition and drive for improvement (RC, CA and PA)- machine over reject, invalid improvement, process or chip related issues.
• To lead/ support internal/ external quality issues: To support & involve on product traceability (Backwards/ forward), material traceability, process traceability, machine traceability, panel tracebility and etc, support risk assessment, shipment halt activities and etc. To coordinate yearly reliability monitoring submission.

• Degree/Master in Material Eng/Mechanical Eng/electronics Eng/Physics/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Min 3 years of experience in the LED Manufacturing / Semiconductors Field. IC Knowledge will be an added advantage. Min 5 years of working experience in Product Engineering, Product Development or Product Characterization on the LED Manufacturing Field. IC Knowledge will be an advantages.
• Experience & ability to lead engineers & technicians will be an added advantage.
• Able to communicate effectively with counterpart in Europe and China. Hence, fluency in Malay, Chinese, English and/or German shall be added advantage.
