Job summary

The Origin Foods Sdn Bhd is seeking a commercially minded Product Development Executive to lead innovation for its B2B OEM/ODM health supplement manufacturing business. You will translate customer briefs into tailored product concepts, guide them from concept through validation to launch, and work across R&D, production, and quality teams.

Responsibilities include designing formulations, sourcing materials, and ensuring regulatory compliance, labeling, and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Experience in product development, R&D, formulation, technical sales, or OEM/ODM manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ingredients, product formulation, dosage rationale, product claims, and regulatory considerations.
• Commercial awareness including costing, supplier evaluation, and market positioning.
• Excellent project coordination, communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative product concepts based on customer requirements, market trends, and industry insights.
• Design product formulations, select active ingredients, and recommend dosage levels with regulatory compliance.
• Source and evaluate raw materials and suppliers; assess cost competitiveness.
• Prepare specifications, concept proposals, formulation briefs, and technical documentation for internal and customer review.
• Coordinate cross-functional projects from concept through validation, trials, and launch.
• Monitor trends, ingredients, technologies, and research to identify opportunities.
• Ensure alignment with GMP, HACCP, Halal, labeling, and food regulations.

Product Development Executive / Senior Executive

The Origin Foods is seeking a driven and commercially minded Product Development Executive to lead innovation for our B2B OEM/ODM health supplement manufacturing business.

This role bridges customer needs, market opportunities, scientific formulation, and commercial execution. You will develop tailored product concepts and guide them from initial brief through technical validation and commercial launch.

Key Responsibilities

Develop innovative product concepts based on customer requirements, target market needs, and industry trends.

Design product formulations by selecting suitable active ingredients and recommending dosage levels based on scientific evidence, regulatory requirements, intended applications, and product claims.

Source and evaluate raw materials and ingredient suppliers.

Assess ingredient compatibility, functionality, stability, commercial viability, and cost competitiveness.

Prepare product specifications, concept proposals, formulation briefs, and supporting technical documentation for internal review and customer presentation.

Partner with the Business Development team to recommend products and deliver customised OEM/ODM solutions for B2B customers.

Work closely with R&D to refine formulations, conduct trials, resolve technical issues, and ensure successful product commercialisation.

Coordinate new product development projects from concept through technical validation, production trials, and commercial launch.

Monitor emerging ingredients, technologies, consumer trends, and scientific research to identify innovation opportunities.

Ensure products and proposed claims align with applicable food safety, quality, halal, labelling, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, or a related field.

Experience in product development, R&D, formulation, technical sales, or OEM/ODM manufacturing is preferred.

Strong knowledge of ingredients, product formulation, dosage rationale, product claims, and regulatory considerations.

Commercial awareness, including costing, supplier evaluation, and market positioning.

Excellent project coordination, communication, and presentation skills.

Able to manage multiple customer projects independently while collaborating effectively across Business Development, R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams.

Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Halal requirements, and food regulations will be an advantage.
