Swagelok Malaysia is seeking a procurement leader to drive cost-effective, timely purchasing and ensure compliance with company policies. You will lead supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance reviews to secure reliable inputs.
You will develop sourcing strategies, monitor metrics, expand the supplier base, and coach the procurement team to sustain operational excellence across the business.
Leads the procurement team to develop and execute strategies that ensure cost-effective, timely, and compliant purchasing. Oversees supplier selection, contract management, and performance evaluation to maintain high quality and reliability. Drives price negotiations and purchase order execution to achieve optimal value while meeting delivery commitments. Ensures adherence to Swagelok policies, directly supporting organizational efficiency and operational excellence.
Position Summary:
Devise and implement effective sourcing strategies, leveraging supplier evaluation, negotiation, and partnership management, supported by data analytics to secure advantageous terms and meet business goals.
Develop, monitor, and report key functional metrics to drive continuous improvement in cost efficiency and procurement performance.
Manage the purchasing process to ensure approvals and supporting documentation comply with Swagelok policy, while planning, prioritizing, and reporting activities to highlight potential supply risks and maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders.
Oversee compliance of orders with supplier agreements and contracts, reporting any non-conformances, and collaborating with finance and logistics teams to resolve payment, receiving, and invoicing discrepancies.
Continuously improve procurement processes by identifying efficiency opportunities and implementing best practices.
Expand and maintain a competitive supplier base to meet current and future needs, mitigating supply risks through regular performance reviews and supplier development plans.
Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team to enhance capabilities and support organizational objectives.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 7 years of procurement experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment will be added advantage.
Engineering background is an added advantage - candidates with the ability to read technical drawings will be prioritized.
Proven track record in supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, policies, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in using procurement and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Strong analytical skills with experience in using data to drive decisions and measure performance.
