Job summary

Kitron ASA in Malaysia is seeking a procurement professional to oversee channels for new projects and mass production. You will manage orders in the IFS ERP, control inventory, and coordinate with suppliers to meet delivery timelines.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, EMS procurement experience, and strong negotiation/communication skills. Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is needed; work is on-site in Senai, Johor.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in IFS or similar ERP systems.

• Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement channels to support new projects and mass production and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals.
• Maintain and update a rolling three-month procurement plan with weekly/monthly reviews.
• Manage the order process within IFS ERP, ensuring accurate order generation and timely supplier delivery.
• Control inventory based on monthly sales targets and ensure materials meet production needs.
• Assist in resolving issues related to delivery, quality, or service.
• Handle MRO and other indirect purchases, including sourcing, issuing POs, and follow-ups.
• Maintain effective supplier communication and monitor performance; conduct audits.

1. Procurement

• Oversee procurement channels to support new projects and mass production and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals.
• Maintain and update a rolling three-month procurement plan on a weekly and monthly basis, including cost, quality, delivery, and production lead time reviews based on the demand set up by the planner.
• Manage the order process within IFS EPR system, ensuring accurate order generation, prompt supplier delivery confirmation, and expediting materials that do not meet delivery timelines.
• Control inventory based on monthly sales targets, striving to achieve inventory goals.
• Ensure materials procurement meets production needs through effective cross-departmental communication and cooperation.
• Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and optimize procurement processes.
• Assist in resolving issues related to delivery, quality, or service.
• Handle MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) and other indirect purchases, including sourcing of indirect suppliers, streamlining process flows, reviewing quotations, issuing purchase orders in IFS and sending to suppliers, and following up on open POs.

2. Supplier Management

• Maintain effective communication with suppliers and provide timely feedback to the direct superior for any issues.
• Monitor market trends and analyze supplier performance.
• Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments.
• Collaborate with sourcing team on materials costs improvement and suppliers’ evaluation.

3. Documentation

• Manage procurement records and documentation for transparency and compliance.
• Responsible for daily reporting and control of procurement related KPIs, including taking improvement measures to achieve annual KPI targets.
• Prepare reports for customers on material status related to prepayment and/or consigned inventory.

4. Others

• Any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the management.
